That would be all well and good IF the judicial system in North America allowed a man to walk away without being in financial ruins.

That whole mentality "I want her home not working" is why dudes are taken to the cleaners in divorces. In North America, a man BETTER CARE if the woman has some education and a way to bring home some GOOD income because divorce settlements are decided by the basic 'ole equation:

(A + B) / 2

Where A = man's income and B = woman's income. It doesn't take a math major (although I was math major) to understand that the closer her income is to your income, the LESS you will lose in most divorce settlements.

On top of that, I cannot understand why a guy would bust his tail in college and at the workplace only to marry some librarian who makes 1/10 of his salary and RISK LOSING HALF.

Of course you have children, and primary physical custody will go to her 9 times out of 10. I don't see a lot of women killing men when they break up. Men don't shit themselves because of legal reasons. It's more to do with the pain, suffering, and rejection because of..... a host of reasons, (not limited to just legal).
