What to do when a guy in the flat out tells you to go away

Edit : Title of the thread should be "What to do when a guy in the group flat out tells you to go away"

Was in a 12 set the other day. Mixed seated set.

Had been talking to 2 of the girls to my left for about 10 mins and they were perfectly happy with me talking to them and with my presence at the table.

However one of the guys to my right who I had not spoken to up to this point said hey these people at this table are all friends of each other and we don't know you. Go away.

No I know you are supposed to engage / win over the whole group with mixed sets but it literally was not possible. It was a large oblong table of 12 people so there is no way I can speak to them all at once.

How do you deal with it when someone tells you to go away? By the way, the two girls heard him so flat out ignoring him was not an option. Also he was being quite insistent.

My first idea would be to indirectly call him out / neutralize him; you want to expose him for being the bitch that he is. This has happened to me before and what I did was I said, "this guy here doesn't like me" but kept talking to them. This shut him up but he was still pissy after that. You need to say it in a patronizing way though, not in an aggressive way, which could lead to the stare down / lets go outside / bloody face fight and drunk tank.

There are other ways to do this, but the key I would think is neutralize or assert yourself over them, for being a social wiener.

What about telling the girls ``Does he always tell you who to talk to?`` or ``Oh no, the chaperone is kicking me out.`` Not speaking from personal experience but it seems to me the best way would be for the girls to do the work for you by letting him know that they like you. Maybe you can befriend one of his guy friends as well so it looks like your there to talk to everyone and not just get the girls.

"What's the problem buddy? I'm not going to steal your girlfriends don't worry. [Image: smile.gif]"

Say something to make the girls laugh, so that if he continues to try to push you out he'll seem extremely lame.

why not just take him out back and fight him one on one,
i am a mixed martial artist, so I incorporate that into my game,
if a guy wants to disrespect me, I will kill him (not literally)

Beat the guy up. Don´t think it´s the best solution though, but that´s what I would have done. Did it in the past qith an asshole, girls I were with didn´t like it and left.

Getting into fights is not my idea of a good night out.

Women don't seem to find it attractive either oddly enough.

Yeah, if you want her panties wet keep the fighting for those times when she/both of you are threatened (and only if she's your girlfriend). Otherwise it's a no no.

why are you so chicken? someone just disrespected you, at that point forget the girls, and get your pride back...

i take it you have a little or no fight training at all.

I think that all PUA's should learn MMA. it increases confidence, testosterone (which is necessary for picking up) and ass kicking ability.

I'm guessing for a lot of people not having a criminal record is more important than maintaining some sort of pride. Also, today's society is more of a passive-aggressive society-- a feminized society-- and fighting isn't really a mark of maintaining pride. What would show pride in this situation is maintaining your ground by asserting your masculinity much the same as alpha male animals do in the animal kingdom. That is more with a Roar than a head butt. If you fight, you are showing that you can't handle your emotions and you let him get to you.

The guy was not capable of threatening my pride. He was just being an annoyance and an obstacle in gaming the set.

Ha. I grew up in Liverpool in the 1970s. That's all the fight training that you need. I have been in a number of fights in my life when self defense was required. I have never lost one.

I don't start fights however. Starting fights is juvenile and it never going to help me enjoy my night which, in the end is all I care about.

High testosterone is not necessary for picking up.

Hmm, im just curious, what would you do if someone pushed you around?
Assert your alpha male status with some smart ass remark? Just curious, because it does happen.

If someone literally pushed me I would fuck him up, but the initial post isn't about physical attack.

Getting back to the original point, starting a fight with the guy is not the way to deal with this situation.

thegspwarrior9, did you finish high school? I don't know about you, but I have way too much to lose from a fight. I can't help but assume you have a room temperature IQ.

Come and get me now ; )

Challenge him to a sword duel and kill him. Honestly though, make a polite but dismissive comment and try to pass it off as a joke - not to the guy but to the girls you were talking to, especially if they really were enjoying talking to you. It could be about him being rude when interrupting a conversation.

Look most girls just don't care for guys that are looking for a fight. Sure they would like to know that a guy can himself, but outright looking for a fight wins you the douchebag asshole label.

If a guy in a set tells you to go away just be cool about it. If he persists and wants to escalate it's better to just walk away because you sure as hell ain't walking away with the girl if you kick her friend's ass.
