Thing is they are very old here. How did they look when they were 21? Probably better.

Also I wouldn't be surprised if they have a chip on their shoulder and want their success to be attributed to their skill instead of their appearance. So they made themselves look like men (short haircuts, powersuits, no makeup), which greatly decreases their score.

My theory is that old power women used to be those ugly, young, girls that no one looked twice at. So it makes sense that they had nothing better to do than to succeed in life.
