whats your cardio routine

Call me old school, but I try to run 3-4 days a week for at least 25 minutes (3 - 3.5 miles minimum) with a sustained heart rate. I don't do treadmills, so that means outside regardless of the weather or temperature (under armor for the really cold winter months).

@Laser- I'll be on a deployed military installation. On one trip I was up at 0330 to be in the gym at 0400 to get in before the crowds. My body wasn't awake and my workout suffered. It's just frustrating.

Yep I guess I'm old school to. I try to run about 30-45 min a week broken up over 2 or 3 days. I just do it to keep my belly down and to help me go hard during sex. I'm already skinny so if I run a lot, I start losing my muscles and fat.

I get on a bicycle and climb 7 miles uphill. There's nothing like a fucking 7 mile steep uphill mountain road to get your heart pumping. And then you go back down and you go as fast as a car. Fairly fun.

Gotcha. I could see how the rack would see more use in a military gym vs. bally's or LA fitness.

I've decided to give a new workout routine a go. I bought Never Gymless by Ross Enamait earlier this year and like his no bullshit approach. My routine starts today and I'll let you guys know how it goes. This will incorporate a lot of training, including cardio, into one workout regimine. I don't have time to split up working out in the gym, then stacking cardio on top of it.

Besides workout do focus on your daily meals also.

i preferably want something i can do at the gym. my primary goal is to have a healthier heart with a secondary goal of performing better in bed. i'm not trying to lose weight.

should you run/bike/eliptical machine for long periods or short periods and how many days a week? how do you decide

dude, forget running jogging etc. take up the real challenge. HIIT rules. you dont even have to waste time to come up with your own outine. there are already full kick ass programs that all you have to do is to follow. but they're are hard. like HARD, for real. specifically..

INSANITY:

or..

ASYLUM:

i wouldn't don't take this before/after results too seriously cause IMO they are over the top. most people will not develop that fast simply because they will not even finnish it doing correctly all the moves.

i'm doing insanity myself i can tell you it's real deal. your t-shirt will be wet. probably even after the warm up : ) insanity is more practical as you only need 2 squares metres of space and determination. nothing else.

i watched it a couple of times to remember how the correct form looks like. then i converted movie files into mp3s and uplodaded them to my phone. so now all it takes is to press play and follow the instructions. this way i can do it literally anywhere. in spring i'm gonna upload the edited video of me exercising in different locations. something like "where the hell is matt" video : ) can't wait.

Jump rope for about 10 minutes daily after the rest of my workout, followed by jumping in the pool. I think the cold water gets me going even faster. Working on resuming my running routine, which is a 5k 4x/wk.
