Hello everyone! I’ve been reflecting a lot on personal growth and how to develop discipline in daily life. What are some of the strategies that have worked for you to stay consistent and push through challenges, especially when motivation is low? I’d love to hear your experiences and any routines or habits that have helped you achieve your goals.
Hello everyone!
I have always had high motivation. I don’t even know how it’s possible to live with low motivation. To be honest, I don’t even know what low motivation feels like.
My gut reaction when I hear of low motivation is to tell the person to find something towards which they feel... highly motivated.
If they don’t feel this for anything... what’s the point of trying to feel motivated for things you don’t feel motivated for? If you don’t want things, there’s no point in trying to get them. Just chill, in that case.
Success is a result of motivation. I don’t see how it’s possible to achieve something that you don’t even want to achieve.
This whole line of thought feels like I am talking to children, and not very bright ones either.
I am not trying to attack you. I am just unloading my thoughts on a subject that has bothered me for a long time. In fact I will add this as an aphorism to my philosophy site.
The only reasonable explanation to the motivation issue I can think of is people being influenced by other people and the media around them. Most people for example would consider a sexual relationship as desirable, so they would be motivated to pursue one. But people aren’t the same, and some people just don’t care for a sexual relationship. However, they still see everyone around them pursue one, so they feel they should be doing the same. And that’s how they end up wondering how to achieve something that they don’t really want to achieve.
My advice to them would be: Just chill and find something you like doing, and motivation will be automatic. If, on the other hand, you don’t feel like achieving anything, maybe you should reconsider breathing?
