Funny how personal Iceland is taking this....

I told many girls/guys in Colombia about BANG: Colombia, and they just laughed and thought it was cute, and actually reported it was very true.

Is there anyone on here that's actually on the ground there now? My guess is that despite all of the 'outrage' over the book, the behavior of the (average) girls there, after the bars close on Friday and Saturday night, is completely unaltered and will be for the foreseeable future.

Hey dude,

I am actually so sorry to hear that you were let down by your stay in Iceland.

I know Icelanders are not known for their love of small talk, it's just not in their culture and they simply don't feel the need to strike up conversations with people unless it's about something urgent. But once everyone is out relaxing and drinking that of course changes.

I know there is a small but very noisy group of super-feminists in Iceland (and most women feel they have equal rights to men) and your book has been criticized by Icelanders and mainly those feminists, but I would like to explain to you where the aggression comes from. At least the way I see it.

You see, this expression about women in Iceland being "easy" irritates a lot of Icelanders. The fact is, women in Iceland like to think of themselves as hunters and not just game. They will go out specifically to "get lucky" if they are feeling horny and who they choose for the mating is more up to them than the guys. So I would describe them more as "willing" and not "easy".

This of course distorts the normal pick-up process since the male has minimal control in it, and hence has to make minimal effort.

Women in Iceland don't really care about how much money a guy makes or what his interests are, they look more towards his looks and personal grooming (after all they are usually just out to get laid). If they don't like what they see from the beginning, they are not likely to be interesting in talking to you at all.

For a long time, foreigners had much luck with Icelandic women since they were something different from the usual scene, but I suspect that is decreasing slowly.

I suggest putting more effort into grooming and good looks before going there. A full beard and long hair is not a popular look (if you don't mind me saying). [Image: wink.gif]

...and one more thing, just to clarify, Iceland IS a part of Scandinavia, since it consists of Norwegian and Swedish settlers and is sociologically and culturally more or less the same as the other Scandinavian countries.

Good luck on your future quests of banging international women!

I'm an Icelandic guy thought I would comment on this,

It's true there has been a rather large uproar over this book, large to our standards anyways, I've been reading a lot about this lately on forums, news websites and other private
discussions. I haven't actually read the book myself but I've seen glimpses of it here and there and whatever I can find online.

The book (from what I've seen) is true in every way, but it's not quite that black and white. You can easily go and get laid downtown if that is what you seek, a lot of the women that do go downtown are often seeking the very same thing you are, casual sex with some stranger, and women here are attracted to tourists. I think in a way Iceland is pretty sexually liberated and it's not a huge deal if a woman shows she wants sex. I still think the book describes a small portion of the population, but enough portion of it to be able to have a good time here.

Women here want respect as sexual beings, that is being allowed to have sex as much as they want with whomever they want without being labeled easy. That is the kind of comments from women that I have heard, they don't deny that there is a portion of women who will have sex more easily then in other countries, but they don't want to be described in this way as the book apparently does. Many of the comment replies have been along those lines "and what about men? it takes 2+ to have sex, why are we the easy ones?"

Basically, there are women here who like sex, want to have it, and some want to have a lot of it, but they don't want to be called "easy" while the man isn't called anything.

Think the publicity of this book sparked curiosity among icelandic men, I would like to read it and see what all the fuss is about, I personally think it's just a book for 1 type of travelers, the ones who dont really give a damn about seeing buildings and landscapes and just want to have some fun.

I guess that's all, Think the book is harmless and probably wont be taken to seriously by most of the readers.

Just for clarity, Iceland isn't part of Scandinavia.

I believe the main reason Bang Iceland is getting publicity is due to the place being very small - anything that puts Iceland on the map internationally will be noticed.

i would like to point out iceland is part of scandinavia that is why we are called scandinavien. but i must say that roosh yes there are many points that you are right many icelandic women do get laid at the end of the night. and they do it not becouse they have to but they feel like they want to have a bit of fun and you look cute enough. many icelandic women choose foreign men over the icelandic men as they are sick and tierd of they're macho ego and pissing contests and find the foreign guys seem bit more reserved and polite. i my self live in england now and can't say that i haven't said to an english bloke well i'm sure you if you go to my home country you'll prob get laid. and it's true. but that doen't make icelandic women slags or easy becouse if they wanted to be hard to get they would they just decided that they got some frustration they need to get rid of and you were the perfect pray.

I know lots of icelandic women that do the oposite that are abouslout virgins and wont talk about anything. over here in england i'm considered very open and out spoken wich is true how many women do you know that talk about anal sex in the pub with load of strangers. yes icelandic people are very reserved unless you get some booze into them but then again we are very reserved becouse we don't see much point in getting to know people that aren't gona be staying around. going to festivals in iceland is far better though than the icelandic night life i recommend you try the festivals in the beginning of august for example there you see icelandic people that only have one thing on they're mind make new friends and then get really hammerd for the rest of the evening. in iceland you got to break the ice with people (see what i did there) and force converstation becouse many of them won't do it they're self.

As i have though notised that icelandic poeople are much nicer to foreigners then they are to they're own kind as for example i went there this summer and i got lost my phone was dead and i had no icea where rest of my mates were. so i asked in my native tounge could i borrow your phone to call my mate as i have lost them and my phone is dead. everyone ignored me. but when i switched to english as i have a very thin american twang when i speak that goes a bit canadian people started talking to me and eager to lend me they're phone so i could fine people. wich show's you that when you think you have a hard time as a foreign person it's much harder as an icelandic person in it's own culture it's is the strong survive mentallity. and if your lost everyone with no money phone or any thing else if your foreign we will help you out if our iclandic you get you better start walking.

just wanted to say i'm sure many icelanders read your book and go ohh well i'ts true. but then again this book is only one part of a bigger picture which is great when people read it but people need to also realise that when that could be about 10% of women or more or less i ai'nt sure in the end of the day all people are diffrent and you never know if your gona get the "easy" lay of just a girl that will cock block you all night as she fancy's you but won't shag you.

I wish icelandic whore wasn't bad, she deserved to get the truth served to her. A woman telling us how to be real men, LOL.

I agree with blurb she was using typical male shaming manipulative words like desperate sex hungry men. Male sexuality is to be embraced and liberated just like female sexuality. A true feminist who was fair minded would recognize that oppression of male sexuality by calling men creeps, desperate etc. is just as bad as female sexual repression by society.

Anyways, I suspect Roosh will now be a minor celebrity there and he'd be wise to milk it because with fame comes groupies and easy pussy. Go roosh. IF I were you, I'd go back to iceland and set a book signing event and call up the local tv stations to cover it (you think they have anything better to cover in an island of 300,000, I remember being in Oslo and the news was often stale and reptitive with lack of new topics to discuss often, these journalist are dying for a story). Heck you could even charge them a minor fee for a media pass and you'd get good advertising/sales.

I could on deepr thought see this 2 ways. If too many icelanders get pissed off they might just find some druggie to lie and say you raped them and given the outrage and claim of a rape guide I could see it very easy for an unethical prosecutor to turn you into a Julian Assange but I don't think that that this book rises to the level of provoking that ire.

Just finished Bang Iceland. Even though I have no interest in visiting Iceland, it is a fantastic and fascinating read, especially in contrast to Don't Bang Denmark. I read Bang Colombia at the same time, and you can see how much Roosh's writing has progressed.

I really like how much he emphasizes that you have to be persistent no matter where you go. He emphasizes how much he banged his head against the wall for 2 weeks until he figured things out. I have not read any other Gurus who flat out state that you have to put up with a lot of failure in order to get successes.

One of the things that I am beginning to wonder is why Denmark is so exceptionally unpleasant even for a Nordic country. There was post on Heartiste about Finland that made it sound very similar to, though not the same as, Iceland.

I finished reading Bang Iceland recently. It was an interesting glimpse into a country that rarely registers as a go-to destination to meet women. As it turns out, this is a culture that is heavily reliant on social drinking as well as being a place where logistics and timing are far more important than game. Roosh eventually cooks up a strategy that marries these unique dimensions and reveals the essence of the modern Icelandic female. The anecdotes of Roosh's flags were funny and entertaining and are sure to keep your attention. I would recommend this book to anyone who plans to visit Iceland.

So I booked my ticket to Iceland for NYE and the first step obviously was to purchase and read Bang Iceland. As with all the other books, I'm always amazed at how much information and thus value you get from these Bang books. I think it was 6.99 or something, a third of the cost of usual travel guides and is entirely suited to what someone like myself would want from a guide book.

Logistics are laid out well, then he gets into the girls. I love the progression of the book, from overall information, to the girls, to stories, to specific city information. I also thought this may be the funniest of his books, maybe next to 30 Bangs if I recall correctly. One other thing that stands out is you know he is speaking the truth because he talks about failures, jacking off at the end of nights, etc.

Overall A. Really nothing I would say is bad about it. Can't wait to personally confirm the writings next month on the ground.

It was never really high on my destination list, but it seems Iceland is a hedonistic dream! Think I'm going to set aside 10 days this year to visit.
