I think Mage was just using a Russian/Slavic term which is "иудаист" and translating it word-for-word. It's uncommon in the West, and I haven't heard it here.
You are right.
Please remember that English language is the most politically correct and censored language in the world. It doesn't assign sex to nouns for fucks sake, which makes idea of gender neutral pronouns possible.
English doesn't have the word "judaist" (I was not even aware of that) and that makes it poorer and unable to understand a simple thing. Indeed your language is the limit of your mind.

I don't think I ever heard the word Judaist before, so I doubt a) it's that common or b) a conspiracy of mystery is the reason behind its rarity. You may have noticed Catholics don't call themselves "Papists", that's a term only sectarian Protestants obsessed with Catholics use, it's not Catholics conspiring in the shadows to keep their Papist conspiracy secret.
Both with Jews and with Catholics, it's not a conscious conspiracy but it's the difference insiders and outsiders analyze the same phenomenon. English adopts Catholic outsider (protestant position) and Jewish insider position (makes you wonder), while Russian seems to adopt Jewish outsider position. Despite all the many Russian Jews Russian seems to be able to analyze them as outside group.
It's not really in Jewish interest to separate nationality from religion. Religious observance is what keeps national identity alive.
