Question for business owners - hiring someone to do scheduling

I started a business recently with a partner and his father has agreed to take on the scheduling for us (for now) in exchange for a 20% commission (one time fee) for every job he schedules. My partner and I need to hire someone to do scheduling bc we both have a hearing loss and cannot communicate very well on the phone. We dont want to rely on my friends dad for very long so I am looking into finding his replacement, I plan to have him replaced within 2 months.

Is there any advice out there for finding someone to do the scheduling? ITs not a hard job but requires a little training and understanding the business and being avaliable to answer the phone all day.

Im looking for advice on where to look for this kind of person, whom NOT to hire ie red flags and positive qualities to look for. Any advice and suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance.

Have you looked into hiring a virtual assistance? it really depends on how complex your business is and what is require on a day to day basis. If it's a simple job then a virtual assistance may be what you're looking for.
