Perhaps echoing Roosh's thread in the game forum about preferring light skin women, I have to admit, I almost never like dark skinned black women. Even though I would be considered dark skin myself. I feel a bit ashamed to say that, but it's just true. I pretty much am only attracted to caramel or light complexioned black women, especially if they have that long wavy mulatta-type hair. Sometimes I will see African dark black women that I think are sexy, but that's just not what I want to be perfectly honest. Sometimes I really do think the male preference for fairer women is genetic. I prefer them and I can't even really explain why. I just do.
What are you thoughts on that issue?
As a dark guy myself, I used to think like you do Speakeasy(but have since come around regarding dark women), so I can definitely understand where you are coming from. I think that preference more or less comes from social conditioning rather than than any intrinsic or genetic predisposition. Think about it, from the time we were young dark women have never really been featured prominently in media or in magazines like SI. If they are featured they are usually lighter and have very eurocentric features(think Beyonce and Halle Berry). Hell, on many of the urban hip hop model magazines mixed, Latin, or light skinned black women definitely get more face time over the dark ones.
Ultimately, when you combine media, popular music(featuring lighter women in lyrics and music alike), and everybody in your environment embracing the idea that lighter women are more attractive, it is only naturally that you subconsciously subscribe to the groupthink and start to think so yourself.
I'm an Italian American guy who loves dark skinned
black women (there are many of us!) My great grandparents were from the same province in Italy that Robert De Niro's great grandparents are from - perhaps there's something in the water?
As iWin pointed out, lighter skinned
black women (especially ones with caucasian features like Halle Berry or Alicia Keys) are very much pedestalized, maybe even more than than blonde haired, blued eyed white women in some circles. When I think of prominent examples in the MSM or popular culture of
black women on the other side of the
Brown Paper Bag Test, most of them look closer to Precious than they do Oluchi Onweagba:
BTW - Oluchi is married to an Italian guy.
And speaking from personal experience, darker skinned
black women are generally very friendly and receptive to me, much more than the lighter skinned girls. Possibly this creates a type of positive feedback loop for me which helps explain why I prefer the darker skinned girls.

Rick Von Slonecker is tall, rich, good-looking, stupid, dishonest, conceited, a bully, liar, drunk and thief, an egomaniac, and probably psychotic. In short, highly attractive to women. - Whit Stillman

^^^ I've noticed that there's a lot of Italian guys that like black women. The ones in Italy in particular. Onweagba is attractive, but I'd still take Alicia Keys over her any day.

Regarding Speakeasy's take, maybe it's a case of opposites attract. I think social conditioning plays a part as lighter skinned lizards are pushed forward to the public face in the Western hemisphere.

Hell I wish I was darker. I don't like my North American skin, and I love when my skin is shiny and dark as hell in the Summer. Dark is beautiful.
Italians I believe have spent time around Eritrean and Ethiopian people. There are many in Italy and maybe that has something to do with Italians being cool with Dark skinned women?
As for my personal tastes I actually prefer darker black women as I like the even and nice skin, it hides a lady's flaw and you never notice a wrinkle or blemish on the girls with that deep dark skin. Redbones and light skinned black girls are hot but overrated as hell as they can look beat as shit when they age.
In regards to Social Conditioning. It is 100% real. Especially in America. African Americans have been deceived into thinking life is better for them now overall, while still being force fed the notion that they are lesser aesthetically then regular folk.
How I know there is blatant and strategic hating and brainwashing going on in the USA is not even from the Black Experience - But from the Asian-American Experience. look how many Asian Americans they are in America, many with access to a lot of wealth and still popular culture ignores them. They will blindly support they own financially and yet Mainstream Culture does not want to (or does not know how) to tap into this sleeping market. Why aren't Asian Women in American help up on the levels of White women or Bleached and Starched Black women? This is how I know there is bullshit swimming around the big Media companies because they are letting their ignorance and prejudice get in the way of windfall profits.
I still believe though as long as you aren't to deep into the brainwashing every brother has that fever in them. For the longest time I never fucked with West African girls I didn't find them hot as a kid, they all looked beat when we where teens but as we started getting older I realized I ain't like these broads because I was exposed to the same ones. I remember we had a gathering and a whole bunch of Nigerian girls from Winnipeg, Vancouver, etc came through. Yo.... I was foaming at the mouth. I literally could not contain myself. These girls were hot, feminine and not on some kid bullshit like the ones I grew up with. So then I realized that I always like them it was just that feeling was suppressed.
I always say that the hunger and fever I get for a black female is unlike anything else, I can't get that hunger for any other type of women but it does not come up often that is the thing. But I ditched the notion of having a preference to white girls or light skinned girls a long time ago. Toronto has helped as even though it is a wasteland and hard to get laid here you notice hot women from all over the globe, each nook and cranny is represented here and it changes your perceptions, delusions, and brainwashing to what is attractive in regards to race.
African-American Men have it the worst though. As there has been a lot of Social Nonconducting and then when you break through that BS your met with a sub-standard pool of Black females to choose from. Even to the fact that I think simply because of the reach of American/Western culture African-American females are put on that pedastool also.
Alicia Keys is beat. Why the hell is she lauded as hot feline when she looks no better then a ratchet gutter girl from the hood.
Beyonce? Yes she's hot but she is hot hottest average girl on earth. You still find hotter girls are a high-end Socialite party.

Media definitely perpetuates the belief that dark = ugly. Vogue Magazine, which has published for over 120 years I believe, has only had 4 people of color on its cover (American issue). Only Oprah Winfrey, Halle Berry, Jennifer Hudson, and of all people, LeBron James (he shared a cover with Giselle Bundchen, and it was very controversial). You have to wonder, in a country as diverse as the US, why less than a handful of people of color managed to get this honor. Simple. Publishers will tell you that in this particular market in the US (adult women's fashion), blacks on the cover don't sell. That's always been the case. Business is business, so they continually give the reader what they want and what will sell. I was watching a documentary about former supermodels, and how they've adjusted to getting older. One talked about this, because she was considered and "exotic" when she was modeling, and struggled to get covers. She ended up becoming an editor herself, and she was told by others at the magazine that in her era (50s, 60s) if they put someone black on the cover, people would cancel subscriptions. Real talk. Unfortunately, that still holds true for certain demographics.
In Europe, they regularly put women of color on the cover of Vogue. A few years ago, they put out an ALL BLACK issue, with five different women on the front cover, and it folded out to feature the other 4 women (Liya Kebede was on one, Naomi Campbell was on another - I grabbed the one with Liya). Most of the ads and the models inside the issue were also black, the reverse of what you usually see. The problem was the issue was a struggle to find. Even the major news/magazine stores didn't carry it, even though there was some mainstream media exposure regarding the issue. The demand for the issue in major urban areas like NYC was huge. I finally found a small store that carried it, and he had a couple of issues in the window so those walking by would know he had it (very smart). I asked him why it was so hard to find it, and he said it was a special issue, so it had to be specifically requested. Tell me...why didn't more newstands and magazine stores order this issue? And I asked each place specifically if they had it, and all said NO. Even in a city (NYC) that has plenty of black folks that would buy it, they STILL didn't order it.

As a latino/white man who has grown up around alot of black people, I have to say...
Many black people have an "inferiority complex". They hate themselves for being black. I don't like this.
I think its all social conditioning. You have been taught to hate yourself. You have been programmed to believe you are less beautiful, less capable, more violent, etc, etc. This is all bullshit.
The slave maters have brainwashed you. Time to wake up!!!
They are making money from your suffering. Every time a black person goes to jail, its more money and business for the lawyers, judges, clerks, jail staff, prison officials, cops, etc.
Making blacks hate themselves is big business. And they are making billions!!

I always thought it was funny when black girls at school would say they want me to get them pregnant so the baby would be light lol. Yeah in America, white is right. People are just always gonna look at you different if you're brown or black until you talk to them and show them you're "not like the rest". I remember a black teacher in high school telling me people are always gonna see my last name first and make up their mind about me. Sucks that you have to try extra hard just to prove to people you're not another stereotype.

The reason us Italian men like
black girls is many.
1/ We just like ALL woman, period
2/ White Italian girls are primadonna bitches, so look elsewhere.
3/ And of course LOTS of
blacks in Italy these days, so lots of these hottie's are around
