Realpolitik + ethnic cleansing + taking advantage of dimwitted elites + long game thinking
Canada is underpopulated. So mainland China gives people money, tells them to pretend to be rich and sends them over. Each 1 person who comes over can then use family sponsor laws to bring in 6+ people. Eventually they will rule the country.
In just 1 generation Chinese number 1+ million in Canada. Meaning they already outnumber ethnic groups who were in Canada, in large numbers, for 4 or more generations. Within 20 years they will outnumber bigger ethnics like German Canadians. Maybe 50 or 100 years is when the takeover will commence.
But why Canada?
1. Fresh Water
2. Proximity to USA. If a non-nuclear WW3 happens then they can steamroll the American border. America can't do the same back.
3. If no WW3 happens then China gets a lot of "living space" to dump their excess people.

Canada is not underpopulated. 90% of the population live within 100km of the US border because it's too damn cold up north. Also, 99% of immigrants live in big cities (Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton), driving up housing costs and driving down wages.
We should have almost no immigration (less than 10k/year) but our ignoble globalist overlords want to replace us. However, most people are not aware of this plan(NPCs), are too cowardly to talk about it(beta cucks), or don't care (boomers).

Chinese are stereotyped as being semi-tropical people but "North China" and "North East China" has a good 250 million people as we speak. Beijing right now is colder than Edmonton. So later waves of Chinese won't have much of a problem converging on the Prairies in large numbers.

Canada is pushing hard to increase immigration to 500,000 a year, increasing to almost 2% population immigration.
The real increase is going to be in people from previously less desirable areas. Less Euro or South African and more Somalia or Sudan.
I think the turning point was when the Liberals pet immigrants kept voting conservative. Pretty sure they will be voting Tory again next year too. But the immigrant voting blocks are also starting to take up positions in the NDP as its easy pickings. They will come to dominate big city politics very soon, if not already, as they nearly always vote as a block.
I have no doubts that the Canadian experiment is officially over. We will not see a 200 year birthday party with the current maple leaf flag.

Left Wing Politicians bringing in immigrants from right wing societies and expecting them to become like Interwar French Unionists: yeah the thinking on that one probably lasted a whole of 2 seconds.
Sure impoverished Africans might want money (if I was dying of hunger why not?) but the educated and elites of Africa tend to be conservative. So even the African Plan is kind of self-sabotaging in the long run.
The only reason western countries haven't shifted to the right is immigrants generally don't get involved in politics. But when they finally do it could end up anywhere from hardcore Islamic, a hybrid or something East Asian. I doubt any (eventual) shift will favor marijuana, the welfare state, feminism or even the latest fad of gender fluidity.
I would even say the shift is slow but visible: NDP's leader is openly wearing religious clothing. Something which Europe hasn't done in centuries and yet not many question it because of decades of conditioning and metaphorical brainwashing (and fear of being called racist: although I am not sure how one can be racist to a religion which accepts converts of any race...)
