Best place to go in Europe for Winter

Hello everyone,
I have some time off from late December into January, and was thinking of going to Europe. I'd appreciate your recommendations, because I know winter isn't the best time to visit Europe and some cities might be dead.

I'm headed there too at that same time, for almost three weeks. I'll be hitting up Barcelona and Amsterdam. Maybe Morocco for a few days too.
If you're worried about weather, go south, because the Mediterranean countries are always decent. At least, they rarely get snow. (Cold rain, yes, but not snow.) I kind of like it like that -- more atmospheric.
Someone said Portugal, and I agree. I spent February in Portugal a few years ago, and it was sunny and 55-60 degrees in Lisbon/Sintra/Alentejo. Perfect for sitting outside in a cafe, with a jacket.

I would agree and recommend either Spain, Portugal, or Italy.
All three will offer great weather, great women, and plenty to see/do.

Portugal by far has the most English speakers, so I would recommend that. Everyone under age 45 speaks good English because 1) it was made mandatory in school about 30 years ago, and 2) foreign movies and television are NOT dubbed into Portuguese, but simply subtitled, so they still have the audio. (By contrast, Spain dubs all outside movies and television into Spanish, and the English there is abominably bad.)
Anyways, Portugal is Europe's undervalued gem. If you like port wine, be SURE to go to Porto. It's my favorite city in the country, and it has a long history of English mixing.

Portugal and Spain might have the best weather, I think they're on average warmer than the other Mediterranean countries.
But, game there is harder in comparison to EE or Northern Europe and the level of talent is lower.
If it won't matter in 30 years, it doesn't matter now.

Regarding weather it will be comfortable.
Athens lacks a night scene though, so id only go if you enjoy day game and have an affinity for greek culture.

I am in Tenerife, and it's hands-down the best place in EU for me. I am actually looking for a roommate and planning to post a data sheet soon. PM me if you are interested.
tl;dr weather is perfect and the island is full of girls from Northern Europe during the winter. No competition from the locals either, because they don't really speak English lol. I swear to god the only person doing approaches here is me. It's paradise.

Where in Tenerife are you finding young single girls from northern europe? When i was there this winter it seemed to be 90% retirees, and the rest young couples on holiday.

In Puerto de la Cruz for example. Lots of 2-sets of girls on vacation. There are of course retirees and couples, but if I spend half the day on the street, I will find at least 10-20 groups of girls, and even the occasional lone girl who is either on vacation alone (they do exist), or is on the island on an internship, or to study Spanish etc.
And that's not even the South, which is full of sluts on vacation. But I don't go to the south much, because it's both far from where I live, and I prefer the quieter more adventurous girls that prefer the north. Plus, I really have the north to myself. As I said, no one approaches here. The night life is generally quiet too, so when girls meet me, I am the most exciting thing around for them.

A city of this size lacks nightlife? Why is that so?
The economy is shit. The real partying happens on the greek islands.

So, anywhere outside the Mediterranean is a no-go, it seems? Is the weather seriously that bad?
I was thinking about Sicily. Any of you been there?

Winter is winter even in Sicily, or Crete in Greece. On occasion, it can even snow there, though usually you just get mild cold and some rain. You won't be swimming in the sea unless you are a winter swimmer, and there definitely won't be any chicks swimming. Same goes for Mallorca or any Med island. Don't know how it is in Northern Africa, but that's not Europe, and I don't go to third world countries.
Only place in EU that you can have a summer lifestyle in the winter is the Canary Islands, which is why I am here. And the biggest of them is Tenerife.

The problem in southern Europe is not the cold itself but the cold rain. Rain is unpredictable, but there is a tendency for rain to start sometime in October but then it often becomes dry again in January/February before the rain resumes in March/April. Southern Europe is very nice when just dry cold, because the cold is moderate. Snow and frost very rare along the southern coast.

Sicily is the worst shithole I've ever seen in Europe.
