I know men's jewelry is kind of a precarious subject, as everyone has their own opinion.
What are your opinions of the following two men's rings?

Let's not let the price be too much of a deciding factor, or let's assume you do fairly well and have some spending cash saved. That said, do you think the second one (which has almost twice as many carats), is worth the extra $600 in price?

If you want to wear jewelry, wear an expensive looking watch or nice cuff links. And a sterling silver belt buckle or tie bar.
Everything else is too bling and screams douchey. But those are my tastes. Maybe douchey stuff can work in attracting girls.
Like with watches, you could buy a $20 ring and chicks can't tell the difference. And if it's class you want, this isn't it.

Have to try them on in person to see. I am over rings (and chains, rocked a gold one for years) personally and consider watch to be the thing I wear when I want to "bling it up"

I'm not a fan of silver myself but I like the 2nd one better.

I like the style, but I'm not a ring wearer (not yet any way)

I have this watch:

I think one of these rings would compliment it nicely and look dope.

Are you after a younger or older demographic, or is it just personal taste?
I'm 27, so I guess I'm a little bit young to be interested in jewelry, but I like to dress bold, with what I'd call a "unique, classy, GQ, urban" style. Guess it's my sort of way to peacock a bit, but not in a cheesy, douchey, feather boa, top hat, and goggles (a la Mystery) kind of way.
I'm also part Persian, so maybe that's why I'm drawn to liking bling.
Add to that, that I like gangster rap, mob flicks, and illicit business, those tend to be subcultures that indulge in the blinginess.
Maybe in 5 years I'll regret all the money I've spent on jewelry, but you only live once.

Personally I like gold signet rings. If you're going for an understated high end look, it doesn't get better than that. Not blingy, but you can either have your initials engraved or some other motif you like.

I'm not a huge jewelry guy, but what I do have is subtle. I like white metals, so I have lots of sterling silver. I'm more of a chain and pendant guy - usually a medium curb link, or a box link with different pendants (I have a couple of cartouches, an ankh, and various smaller pendants). I have some sterling bracelets, and those are thicker, heavier links. I have some rings, but they are simple bands with something etched on them (veritas, fortis, vita, and I have a pickie band with "reality" etched on it). I have another pickie band that has a light blue stone lightning bolt inlaid on it. I'm a big fan of cufflinks - even when dressing casual, it's cool to wear a french cuffed shirt and links. I also like money clips - I haven't carried cash in a wallet in ages. If you carry business cards, having a cool case that shines is a nice touch.
I've always been a watch fiend, but I only have one that is expensive. I always wanted a vintage Rolex, so I got an Air King a couple of years ago. I even have a pocket watch, which is a cool change every now and then.
