To answer your question, no I have never heard of this. However, just by looking at the video I would have to say that this looks rather foolish to me. This reminded me of the shitty camp that I went to when I was nine so much that I would pass on it wholesale. I did not like it then, what makes you think that I would like it now. The people that go to this don't get the larger joke in the following meme:
which is joke of arrested development.
Taking a week off to go and develop a new or existing skill at a "camp" is perfectly fine as an adult. Spending a week learning how to sail, fly-fish, bow hunt, and fly are all things that I would love to do. I would go to camp to learn those skills among others. What is shown in the above link is another example of the culture allowing adults to not grow up. My Boy Scout summer camp 20 years ago was like camping with R-Lee Ermy compared to this shit:
