Will be in Rio for another month or 3 depending how things go, holla if you're around! PM me.

One week in so far, some observations:
- Lots of hot and feminine girls, but not easy at all. To be fair after spending almost a full year in africa my game skillz are at an all time low I think, I need to unlearn some bad habits developed after having been a "white god" for a year or so.
- As people have mentioned before, people are super flaky here. My strategy for that is I don't make plans more than a few hours in advance and that is working. Being spontaneous is better
- Being foreign is not an advantage here. Besides the language barrier - maybe its just cause of old habits like talking instead of being physical , TBD
- Stunning landscape and beaches filled with hot girls in bikinis having fun. I do love waking up and taking a bike around the promenade and have açai for breakfast while watching hot tanned girls on the beach.
- If you don't speak Portuguese or at least fluent Spanish, I advise go somewhere else.
- Plenty of matches on Tinder, but mostly 6's and the odd 7-8's and they seem to more interested in boyfriend and love than fun.
- Haven't done much night game yet.
- Did go to a few pre-carnaval blocos but between the insane heat, humidity and not having a wingman it wasn't fruitful. I think carnaval may be the worst time to get laid, but yes a lot of fun for sure. Did not see people making out left and right as they usually say - but this is only pre-carnaval so lets see
- City logistics can be tricky if she lives far from zona sul or outside a metro line.
- Also worth mentioning I work around 6 hours a day M-F so I'm not like 100% going out all day and gaming, I think you would have a lot better results if you were gaming all day long on the beaches

I'm gonna see how it goes but def keen to check out other parts of brasil.

Also to everyone saying brasilian girls can be surprisingly ugly - are you sure you're not just saying that you don't like brown and black girls? Haha. I do love dark skin (and light skin) and I'm very very happy with the average quality here. Also everyone is in decent shape - appearances and fitness is very important here.

Adding my 2 cents for some important stuff:

1) Brazilian girls are VERY slutty, but not easy. I´ll try to break it down: They are liberal, promiscuous and love sex. But gaming in Brazil, and specially in Rio, is something TOTALLY different from everywhere else. You need to calibrate looks, attitude and aggressiveness in the right way.

Looks: Be in decent shape and try to dress like locals. Cargo or surfing shorts and t shirts during the day, jeans and polo shirt at night. Suit up or be too classy and girls will see you as a moron.

Attitude: Be rude and masculine. Walk like an alpha, don´t be the silly guy that makes everyone laugh. BUT after you start chatting with a girl, it´s expected that you say funny things, smile warmly and treat her well. Silly compliments like “I want a baby from you” or “your beauty is not from this planet” are also ok. The idea is to be a fun guy WITH HER, but keeping tough with the world. Make her laugh, not others.

Aggressiveness: Be aggressive. Period. Girls EXPECT you to escalate with a few minutes of interaction (or even seconds, if in Carnaval, for example). Don´t be aggressive and girls will quickly lose interest and see you as a moron. Expect lots of easy make outs. The best way to get the bang is keeping making out for several minutes (or hours, depending of the situation), with some ass and tits grabbing, until the girl accepts to leave to a love motel or your place. If she goes, expect low to none LMR.

2) Being gringo is a handicap in Rio. Already explained that in a previous post.

3) Night game is the key. Day gaming in Rio is nonexistent and you´ll be seen as a pervert. And night game in clubs is awful (with exception of Samba clubs in Lapa, which are OK). The best venues are:

Bars: Mainly in Botafogo and Baixo Gavea. As it´s summer, you can expected crowded bars from Wed to Sat. LOTS of sets of 2 or 3 single girls in bars, drinking and getting drunk. Lots of bars that people drink standing in the sidewalk (such as Belmonte), so it makes it easier to approach.

Parties: Basically every Friday and Saturday there are TONS of parties in Rio de Janeiro during summer, mainly in the Zona Sul. Tickets and booze are pretty expensive (even more expensive than going to clubs), but the ratio is VERY GOOD, and girls get very drunk and open to ONS. Expect lots of tourists from other parts of Brazil in those parties, as Rio is the main summer spot in the country. Also curious to hear what any of you brazilian experts suggest for other cities in brasil.
This is my shortlist ATM:
- Belo Horizonte
- Goiânia
- Natal
- Manaus
- Recife

Which one is more liveable/comfortable for a dude to stay a month or so, work from home and going out and picking up hot brasileiras at night?

- Belo Horizonte: Nice 2nd tier city, safer, cleaner and more chilled than Rio and Sao Paulo. Lots of cute, feminine and friendly girls. They look like paisas from Medellin. But the city can be boring (less stuff to do than Rio and Sao Paulo and no beach) and girls there tends to be more conservative, so don´t expect ONS. Actually, the best way to bang a mineira is finding one in Rio´s Carnaval: They travel in mass to Rio in huge groups of hot chicks and go wild, totally different behavior from back home.

- Goiania: Hidden gem. Cute, feminine, fun and DTF girls. And no competition at all. Just don´t dress like a weird cowboy and you will stand out and be eye-fucked or even directly approached by very hot chicks. Easy to pull and get ONS. Good nightlife if you´re into sertanejo (country music). It´s also a very friendly and chilled city in general. Only downside is the poor level of English you may find there.

- Natal: Nice beaches, but dangerous. Don´t know about gaming as only went with ex, but gringo factor may be strong.

- Recife: Shithole, don´t recommend.

- Manaus: The city itself is a shithole and hot and humid as hell, as it´s literally in the heart of the rain forest. But the girls there are probably the easiest to bang in the whole planet. If you´re above 5´ 5 and don´t look like a local Amazonian indigenous, you´ll be directly and aggressively approached EVERYWHERE (malls, restaurants, street, bars, etc). The girls almost beg for bang, I´m not kidding. You can easily pull more than one random girl daily without effort or pipeling. Downside: Girls in general are ugly, short, flat ass, not curvy… typical indigenous type (if you´re OK with chicks from Peru or Ecuador, you´ll find it paradise). And also terrible logistics to get there, takes more than 5 hours by plane from Rio or Sao Paulo, and tickets are pretty expensive.

@Titus thx for the info bruv, this is great stuff. Obrigado.
If you're in Rio lets get some dranks and spit some game.

All in all I am loving Rio, but def letting you other forum playas know that dont expect coming here and getting laid daily without some serious work. However hard work pays off and life is fun here.

If you're ripped though you will win a lot of points here, much more than in places like NYC or European cities. Girls don't give a shit about your job or how smart you are here.

Are you gaming/approaching in English or in Portuguese?

Titus knows his shit, repped
I agree with him on about almost everything, from game adjustments compared to the west to the description of the cities

Minas Gerais state(where Belo Horizonte is) is quite underrated imo
Never been in Goiania or Manaus, but after that description they're on my checklist[Image: banana.gif]
All the other cities also accurate, Northeastern Brazil(Natal and Recife) has got easy women but is very poor

The thing about Rio is that as much as there is plentiful available poon, the competition is also fierce for a number of reasons

I speak "advanced Portunhol", being a native Spanish speaker and having put in some decent effort in learning portuguese vocabulary and watching netflix in portuguese for about 2 months now.

Protip: never try to open in english here, you come off as a dumb gringo and it will be a hard pass unless you look like ryan gosling. At least learn some phrases to open with and then switch to english.

So I've opened with things like:
- Ola vc e muito gata e te viu olhando - fala ingles?
"Hello you're very cute and I saw you looking, do you speak english?"
I do like the asking if they speak english sometimes, as a way to let them off the hook easy (and save my time) if they just don't really wanna talk to you, because they can just say no and move on. If they say yes or try with very broken english its game on.

- Ola meu nome e ...., e queria falar com vc "
hello my name is ..., and I wanted to talk to you"

- Oi desculpe tem algum barzinho legal perto de aqui? (if I'm in a group)
"Hey excuse me, do you know a cool bar around here?"

Then of course situational openers are better, but these I've used these in situations where you dont have much to play with like a supermarket or the beach. Thoughts?

Many thanks for some good information here.

I am excited to be going for the first time for all of April to Rio.

It would be great to meet some others from the forum if anyone is in Rio at that time.

Guys I left Rio recently but just wanted to thank you for all your help and give you a quick little report on my 5 week stay.

Got to hang out with cool guys like TwinTurbo, asdf, and Vinny the IG Cassanova (no longer a member here).

Rio ended up being super difficult, game-wise, I had no idea just how much the gringo factor had eroded, almost no value whatsoever,
and skin color is so important to the hotter girls, I didn't realize how important it was to be light-skinned there,
I thought it was going to be more open-minded as it's full of different colors and races but, in fact, it was the exact opposite.
the other big issue was the "inseguranca" culture and horrible logistics. It was very preventive
of hooking up with the lower-class girls. Most lived over an hour away and the Uber cost almost 70 reais.

Carnival was a huge letdown as well, there were plenty of hot girls and make out opportunities, but there wasn't much Brazilian about it, IMHO,
it felt like street parties at U.C. Santa Barbara back in the day or like Mardi Gras.. most of the music was electronica, and the girls were dressed up
in naughty nurses, or police outfits, etc. I guess it's just been exploited for so long now. I went up to Manaus carnival for a bit , it was much more fun,
good live music and people more willing to talk to foreigners.

But the sights and beaches of Rio were just unnreal, as a tourist, it was out of this world, Pao de Azucar for example, blows Miami out of the water,
talk about amazing views and a playboy's paradise for the rich!

And in terms of convenience, I was able to find great food, great gyms, and even take spin classes in Leblon mall, like I would do back home.
I studied at PUC-Rio , the university there , as an interchange student for about 1 month, and learned basic portuguese, so that was the coolest thing about it for me, it is probably the best place to study and learn Portuguese in the country. I had tried in Sao Paulo before, just too much traffic, and Belo Horizonte is too inconsistent with its class offerings.

crime-wise, I encountered no crime whatsoever, i had friends who got pick-pocketed but they were being stupid, that is 2 people out of 50 classmates at the university during a 1 month period plus Carnival, i mean, the whole high crime thing is really a lot of propaganda, everyone acts so afraid, the homeless people do act aggressive but if you don't interact with them, you'll be fine, I know some of you will disagree...but candidly the city is so populated, it is rare that you'll be walking by yourself at any time .... if you do decide to go out in Rio a lot, you will need to buy one of those hidden fanny packs, they sell them all over the city and cost like $5. It slides under your shorts, just above your junk you put your phone and money in there so you don't get pickpocketed easily cuz you're wearing loose shorts most of the time. Most of my classmates and I took ubers everywhere, honestly the metro wasn't a heck of a lot cheaper, and it was way too crowded and hot, Uber was so damn cheap in Rio

Weather-wise, the heat was rather unbearable at times, I was literally getting sunburned after going outside after 10 minutes walking on the boardwalk in Ipanema...even after layering on sunscreen so I'd have to think twice about visiting during the summer again....or as I quickly learned, you don't go to the beach until 4pm b/c it stays light out till about 8pm in the summer (north american winter).

All this being said, 2 notches in 30 days LOL, the flakiness and sheer arrogance sucked, I felt like I was in Miami, and day game was very tough, girls were downright scared shitless when i tried simple openers on the street, it's a heavy social scene game, the beach is your nightclub,
or you can invest your time in the club scene in Lapa, but be ready to deal with rather intense competition with buff dudes and plenty of int'l tourists.

anyway I headed out to Manaus, in North Brazil, and it's been a total 180, I wrote up a little data sheet, bangs are way way easier, and the culture has been way cooler if you don't mind a bit of a run down Barranquilla-esque city without a lot to do except for bars/clubs and girls. Banged a good number of girls, i've dealt with a lot of issues and city-specific obstacles due to the cultural barrier, but I'm proud to have finally experienced some real Brazilian culture, food and women. If anyone wants to join me here PM me and I'll hook you up with all the intel and logistics, I know the guy who rents the apts there so just let me know.

Here's the link to the datasheet: thread-72871...ght=brazil

i'll be back in Rio in Jan 2020 to complete level 5 portuguese and this time will be living in Leblon or just live in Copa , so see you all again [Image: wink.gif]

It was nice to meet you man. I do disagree about crime but you saw that coming. You have taken all the right precautions and if you do the odds of something happening are small. Yet, if you hadn't done that you would have had to learn the hard way, like me. Glad you had a good trip.

A note on this. Crime in Brazil can mostly be avoided by taking precautions, yeah. But precautions won't save you from bad luck. That's especially true for Rio. You can be walking around minding your own business and get shot by a stray bullet (that has happened many, many times - search Google for "bala perdida"). Or if someone mugs you, even if you give them all or your stuff, they may not like your face and decide to stab you just because. There are plenty of cases like that. It's not propaganda, Rio is dangerous, stats and news speak for themselves.

^This is completely true. Most gringos do not get this.

Odds go down when you take precautions but they are never zero. It is random.

And if something happens, you might just kick the bucket. Stray bullets, some shithead mugger in a bad mood or shootouts between militias, cops and/or bandits.

If someone chooses to come, it is better to take the precautions than not. But should they come in the first place? The general membership here: no.

I spent a lot of time in Brazil (several years) before the crisis. Was never like this before. Used to be you always take 50 R$ when you go out, so in case you get mugged you can hand it over and they'll let you live. I wonder why that has changed.

Due to self preservation, paranoia can quickly take over the human brain. I heard so many Rio = dangers stories that on the flight here I was quite uncomfortable and even after a week of being here it was difficult to go out and explore.

Right now it seems Rio is going through a secure and tranquil period.

There has been no problem crime wise. Most crime is done in the not good areas.
If anything happens to a tourist getting injured the news goes all over the world fast. And most of the time the criminals get caught with all the surveillance cameras everywhere. Many criminals know of the big consequences if they rob a tourist -- its not good news.

Still anything can happen. I was in the Rochina favella doing an art project with some volunteers. Scary at first but after not scary.

It has been quite a while since a stray bullet incident in Rio.

Usually petty crime is not in the favela. The criminals will punish anyone harshly if they rob someone on their turf.

When you return, ask the people there about the long lasting gang war last year. And look at the bullet holes you can see in many houses there.

In 2017:
Quote:Quote:

Yesterday King explained, “I’ve never seen anything like this before. Because this is an internal war within the gang. A turf war. I’ve experienced a lot of gun fights in my three and a half years, which has always been gang verses police, but on Sunday morning was something much more intense. it was crazy.”

He described, “The gunfire went on for five hours non-stop, the electricity went out, we could hear grenades going off, plumes of smoke going up all over the favela. It was like a war zone. And still is. Over the past few days the gunshots keep ringing out every so often, coming from different parts of the favela.”

“I just walked down to the shop and passed eight tanks on Estrada da Gavea. The army, as well as the military police, their helicopters above and BOPE are all over the place here right now. Its very sad to see Rocinha in such a mess. I have always felt very safe here. I love this place and its people so its very sad to see the community embroiled in a war.”

As far as what it feels like for residents, King describes, “I’m used to seeing a lot of guns and hearing gunshots, but for the first time since I have been here, I am a little bit scared of my surroundings.”

“It’s very violent and chaotic, everyone just hopes that it ends soon, children cant go to school, or play outside people don’t feel safe to go to the shops. A lot of people are trapped in their homes and living in fear.”

Last night King explained, “Nobody knows when it will end but the sooner it does, the better. Rocinha is the most wonderful place in the world – when it is peaceful.”

Hey Guys,

Lot's of very usefull info in the thread about gaming and how to approach girls: quick and agressive.

I'll be travelling to Rio in 2 weeks and would very much appreciate it if somebody could name a few places around Copacabana and Ipanema/Leblon that are good for night game. I love night game. I don't care wether these places are simple bars or chic clubs, all that matters is good opportunity for night game for English speakers. (* I know I need to learn Portuguese but I can't do that over night).

Any input will be much appreciated and I'll be sure to review the places upon my arrival.

Finally, hows Lapa/Centro for night game? I know it's a less safe area but wonder wether the nightlife could be cool because it's less sofisticated.

Thanks a lot!
