Career Advice

Hello Gents,

I'm 26 years old and at a transitory stage in my employment. I'm curious, for some of the guys here in their 30's and 40's with stable employment that is fulfilling/that they don't hate, how did you get into your current gig? Any advice on a solid career or job or how you fell into would be awesome great. My major was psych in college (dumb choice, but I didn't know wtf I was doing when I was 18). I've done sales in the past, so I'm leaning towards that. Anyone in any creative fields, I'm definitely interested in what you have to say. Thanks in advance.

A fulfilling career is found when three of the below things come together:

1. Your skills
2. Your values
3. Income generating opportunity

Since your skills involve psychology and sales, one of the lucrative careers you can turn towards is starting a business related to the following fields:

1. Self-help
2. Performance Coaching
3. Healing
4. Motivational speaking
5. Train the trainer business
6. Leadership Corporate Trainer

The training industry is the second fastest growing industry in the world only behind the tech industry.

It offers a relatively lower barrier to entry as it's a service based model and provided you're good with online marketing, you can bootstrap things easily.

The reason I directly jumped to entrepreneurship is because you asked for fulfillment and creativity. To a great degree, fulfillment is directly proportional to the degree of freedom you feel in your creative endeavors and your overall life in general and in my 14 jobs stint, I found that very tough to achieve.

Since last 4 years, I've been running a business and my level of fulfillment just keeps getting better each year.
