Heh - there is a study out there that shows mice getting blind from MSG. Try replicating that by feeding them massive amounts of cheese.

Heh - you seem to be referencing a lot of studies you never seem to link to. Yet I keep finding sources to the contrary, every single time.

Just like the anti vaxxers who can't seem to let it go that their basis for a complaint never existed. It seems that yes, "millions" hah, of anglo-saxons are indeed suffering from mass psychosis or more accurately mass dehydration which is definitely a thing.

Drink more fluids and I bet that MSG er...salt sensitivity will disappear entirely.

I'm with Zel, having gotten MSG headaches and felt the effects of aspartame. Approved == safe. Historically, the FDA has proven to NOT your friend, or is that somehow unclear if you watch the video Zel linked? Over excite your neutrotransmitters at your own risk but don't laud it like its some red pill bullshit. The studies and facts are there for anyone willing to discard toxic taste in favor of truth.

A noted anti vaxxer who takes his stance on debunked science peddling another stance of his on further debunked science.

Fun fact, I bet you didn't know glutamate is a neurotransmitter created naturally by the human body to send messages to other neurons. You know, by "exciting" them to pass on the message of either 1 or 0 to the next neuron. That's the basic function of how a neurotransmitter works.

A secret weapon for cooking is the use of yeast extract (Vegemite, Marmite etc.) as it is highly potent and adds the '3rd flavour'.

I have cooked vegemite into stews, curries, pastries as well as had with sweet dishes and it all tastes fucking brilliant.

I've recently tried in some stir-fry style dishes as an alternative to oyster sauce or soy sauce. It does have quite a different but it is not bad.

Anti-vaxxer - now you are getting vicious. You use the term of the pharma lobby. The vaccine issue is an even clearer one - much clearer. There are multiple Nobel price laureates who went on record speaking out against vaccines and the science there is 10.000 times more solid.

MSG is a trifle side-topic compared to that (also in terms of toxicity and use).

This topic is finished. I really have to put up my 80 page powerpoint presentation that puts together the various data and high-level opinions of thousands of doctors who have not only spoken out against vaccines, but have partly done massive studies. I don't think that you know anything about the issue, but that is no surprise. The average MD knows less about vaccines than I do and that is also by design.

Anti-vaxxer, pro-trumper, chauvinist, conspiracy theorist, sexist, racist .... leave it be Beast. I get it - you like your MSG and are absolutely convinced that it's dandy without having even looked at the alternative data.

But I should not comment here anymore, since you wanted to share your experiences of Cooking with Umami and this only pulls away from the topic.

Oh geeze, you're one of those nut jobs now too? I'm glad I triggered you into exposing your true colors.

You've posted nothing but pseudo-science from the likes of click bait doctors who peddle their own for profit "nutrition" scams to idiots unable to comprehend basic high school chemistry. Hundreds of thousands of doctors and studies? Puhleeze, you've posted a drop compared to the studies that show the contrary. Post your claims with data from proper medical journals and not some quack's nutrition supplement website.

The vaccine debate is an 8+ thread on this forum that clearly puts the burden of "bunk" on fools like yourself. MSG tastes good and vaccines have saved the lives of millions of children ever since they were introduced. Go ahead, let's see that 80-page power point. Myself and others here will be glad to go through it and pick it apart piece by piece.

You'll still cling wildly to the contrary with claims of fantastical proof from hundreds of thousands of scientists and studies too. There have been improvements in medical science worth using. Not everything is a, " big gov conspiracy" [Image: lol.gif]

I expect better from the membership here on topics as basic as this. This isn't bloody global warming where the question is on wobbly sensors, forecasts, and completely out of whack scales.

It's simple science where one chemical compound is identical to one that's similar elsewhere or in the case of vaccines, the bloody disappearance of a ton of common diseases. Antivaxxers like yourself are the reason we had a measles outbreak at Disneyland. Measles FFS!

And I bet you'd just as quickly take up the mantle against the dangers of dihyodrogen monoxide too if it came wrapped in up in a click bait article detailing how this chemical which not only causes horrible blisters but has also been found present in every cancer death and autism sufferer! Only Mercola's own anti DHMO supplement can fight it too for $29.99!

Talk about one hell of a fall from grace. Stick to game because it's obvious basic medicine and science ain't yours to handle!

< You are entitled to your thoughts buster.

I did not "unmask" or anything - I was a big proponent of orthomolecular medicine and anti-vaccines right from the start. I just don't push that in every nook and cranny.

Good luck with believing everything CNN is telling you - or mainstream fields in every one. Gender is a social concept too according to "science".

There is little need to discuss things when you literally claim to know more about medicine than Nobel price laureates.

Save yourself your sanctimonious talk of "you so crazy".

I might add - you are up so deep into believing the propaganda, that you instantly define someone else as a science-Nazi. Why not take a good look at the evidence before doing that? Nah - impossible - the globalist universities who are all claiming that Global Warming is real and that gender is a social construct cannot err or be manipulated.

https://www.madinamerica.com/2015/05/lan...are-false/ 50% of all medical studies are false according to the former Lancet editor - and even that is on the low-side.

As much as these guys at least:

(That's Thomas Huckle Weller, John Enders, and Frederick Robbins. The three gents who made your beloved vaccines accepting the Nobel Prize for Medicine).

Can't get Autism if you die from polio now, eh Zel? I'll be seeing you in the anti-vaccine thread kiddo.

Whatever floats your boat Zel.

Read at least this article by The Ecologist from 2004:

http://www.vaclib.org/basic/polio/polio1.pdf

But no - all humbug.

I for one was a believer in vaccines for most of my life. Only when I looked at the evidence from the other side was it clear for me that this made much more sense.

The same about Red Pill - been a Blue Piller most of my life, Red Pill made much more sense at explaining everything.

Cosign this. A lot of vegetarian restaurants use yeast extract as a secret weapon but it's great in all ranges of cooking, vegetarian or not.
