Gym Approaches - Let's discuss

Ahh the classic gym game.

I've done some searching on the board and found a few threads but maybe us gym rats could get together and discuss the best methods for pulling fitness girls.

It seems like a lot of guys are apprehensive to do approaches at the gym for whatever reason. They claim they are "in the zone" or whatever. Personally, I don't buy this; I have killer workouts and still tend to socialize a bit between sets. BUT, to each his own.

In my opinion these girls are far and away hotter than your average girl or even hot "non fit" girl you see out a bar/wherever. As I'm sure you guys know once you've been with a girl with a rockin' body, most other girls bodies are simply let downs even if they are slim and petite. Few things look better than a thong on a great ass and legs that routinely squats and deadlifts.

Anyways, I'm going to make a habit of this. I workout at an LA fitness so luckily there is plenty to go around.

1st girl - Easy 8.5/9, blonde, great legs/ass, tight waist, make up, fake boobs. The type of girl most guys are intimidated of (myself included) EXACTLY my type of woman.

She is the type who has her headphones on and does not make eye contact with anyone and is constantly on her phone between sets. So, clearly no real opening. In this instance I literally just walked over to her and introduced myself and asked her name. Clearly she was not expecting it but I could tell she was slightly flattered. From there I asked her if she competed because I could tell she was in really good shape. Had some small talk about dieting/lifiting, etc. and I closed it out with "hey I'll let you get back to your workout. We should go out sometime" Unfortunately, she is engaged so clearly no luck. (hard to illustrate this via text but it was a smooth interaction with zero cringe)

I have personally never seen any other guy talk to this chick as she gives off a kind of cold vibe. However, once talking to her it is the exact opposite.

That being said I have been consistently talking to her since with some light flirting. Solid person to talk to at the gym and it is possible she has hot workout friends. Always be planting seeds. I figure its also possible she has some beta fiance...

Girl # 2

This girl I have seen about 2-3 days in a row. Very cute blonde 8 with a solid body (not as good as girl 1, yes I'm shallow AF). This time I decided to experiment and take the long game play.

Yesterday she comes and starts using the bench next to me by the dumbbells. In my opinion, this is your opening. I timed my sets so we would finish at similar times after that I turn over to her and ask "hows your workout?" from there I mention that I hadn't seen her before and we exchanged names & some other small talk. Seemed like a solid interaction. Next time I see her I'll be sure to talk to her and build a little more comfort and hopefully setup a date/ get contact info. I would estimate she was 22-23. During this time there was some other dude lurking in the area as one of those typical "follow the girl around" hoping she will initiate an interaction.

There are a few more girls I want to talk to as well and will likely take the approach of girl # 2.

I hate to be that guy but I definitely don't really recommend doing the direct gym approach unless you are in the top 1-5% of guys at your gym physique/looks wise. (unless you go to some serious meathead gym where everyone is in 1% shape)

My city unfortunately blows for abundance of fitness girls hence why I am moving somewhere warmer/with fitter people.

How about you guys? Any stories or success with girls you've had success/failure with from the gym?

In my opinion this is the perfect place to talk to girls since the gym is usually a happy place/common ground for fitness enthusiasts.

Gotta be honest, I do not do gym approaches. I have had sex with one girl from the gym ,but I met her outside the gym when we ran into each other in another venue. My opening line was literally "Don't you go to my gym?".

Even if I lift heavy there is just something for me about not being in the top 5% fitness-wise at the gym that prevents me from talking to the 8+ babes as I feel like others around me would be listening on the conversation and thinking that the guy is there just to hit on the girls. There was a thread before on these forums and someone mentioned that a great line is to approach a fit girl and ask "what's your competition" or "what are you training for"? I've often thought about doing that but until today have not gotten the courage [Image: sad.gif]

I have to disagree with you slightly on this as the gym is not IMHO a good place for pickup since it is so dependent on location, gym chain, and ratio. I hate to go to "glitter gyms" like LA fitness or Planet Fitness unless I have no choice, for example when traveling. Yeah, I mean it is a very niche venue and I think if you're in super good shape it can work to your advantage. I only am interested in the super fit girls at the gym anyways, not the average ones where it isn't blatantly obvious they workout. Those are not my target market.

My personal mindset is: I look good, I'm built & lean - therefore I do not care how shielding these girls look as they would likely be happy to have a guy like me come talk to them. So I just force myself to do it regardless of the outcome.

Worst case scenario is now I'm friends with hot fitness girls.

The problem is these girls are scarce in my city. I am moving to a city where they are much more abundant as these are the main type of girls I'm interested in.

For my eventual LTR goal the girl would need to be close to as dedicated to myself to lifting and ideally workout with me 4-5 days per week.

Depends on your gym.

I go to a fancy place with a lounge, classes, boxing room, etc. That's a decent place to meet women.

Crossfit or anything that involves group activities is also good.

However, if you go to a rust gym, or Planet Fatness, eh.

Personally, I'd rather be left alone on the actual gym floor. I'm here to accomplish an objective, and I don't want to be distracted.

Even by women.

I like using hot chicks to pump me up between sets. I'm to intense when I work out to "chat" even to other guys (out of breath .heart pounding...rock n roll full blast in earbuds....want to do my hour and get on with my day..e.t.c)

I'm so friggin annoyed with the idiots that want to line me up in a mirror to compare there muscles to mine ...the dummies do it in the Ukraine also...so it's a world wide piss off.

Two times in two different gyms a girl that regularly comes in (we make the cursory eye contact with look over then peek a boo for months) they both started working out where I was. Girl number 1 ..bench beside mine at free weights. Girl 2...beside me at universal gym.

1) both sync'd the time I was there and my every other day routine...this has happened many times before so no biggie

What has been different in the last 6 months for both chicks (different cities!) is they not only work out close to me for a period of time ...but somehow lost their "sports bra" in the locker room. I'm no expert on female gym wear but I get accustomed to sports bra with a loose top ensemble.

Do tit flashes fuck up my routine...you bet. Am I clueless to whats going on...nope. I'm kinda flattered but if I wanted to meet gym chicks I'd be in the yoga/stretch area with the other beta's ...loosening up for 3 hours. Unless the chick is a goddess, I got 1 hour every other day to workout too look good in a suit or a tee shirt, also to feel good, refreshed and I guard that gym time religiously.

That said I'm also no genius on women..... one time in a gym a chick who was always working out near me, came up to me one day and said "you motivate me" and reached out shook my hand...I said your welcome....and she walked away (a 5 at best).

Moral of my story....who the heck knows whats going through womens heads. I am not into guessing games at the gym, nor interested in being a player in a gym (everybody's watching)....work out and get out

I never do approaches in the gym, with one exception where I went to talk to a girl I knew from high school. I don't go to the gym to socialize, it's like a meditation for me.

I do occasionally see guys chatting with women, but it usually seems more platonic. I've never gotten the sense that they just did a straight up cold approach and are trying to ask them out or something. It can't hurt to go up and introduce yourself especially if they're a regular, though. If they have their headphones in and look like they're in their own solemn inner world, I would leave them alone though, unless you have really good game. If they look like they're receptive to being approached or are clearly interested in you, then you should obviously do it. I've definitely missed out on some opportunities like that which I do regret.

I was at the gym yesterday and did exactly that; this girl was a little cutie and wasn't cold. I'm leaving that gym soon (yesterday was my last session there) so I'd decided to introduce myself when she'd finished her sets. When I took a look to see if she was finished, some jerk had started skipping right in front of her, making self-effacing jokes about how he couldn't do more than 10.

This was a big guy though, and maybe a fun social approach is a refreshing change from serious dudes? I can't imagine he had too much luck with that though...

I've gotten three lays in the past two years from gym game, including an 8 month LTR. Very minimal amount of work.

The plus is having a hot chick spot you does wonders on other chicks. I landed the first one, and the others came in succession afterwards.

It's plenty possible to hook up with girls at your gym, but the gym generally falls under a "don't shit where you eat" zone.

You want to get blown out at a venue like the gym? A place you depend on going to several days a week for a very long time? You want to start banging girls there and have to see them all the time? What if things go south with one (or more) women you are (trying) to hook up with?

Plus distracting myself with ass is the last thing I need when working out. General rule of thumb is to treat the gym like a workplace.

I have a few different gym memberships to chain gyms with multiple locations in my city. So if things go like crap with a gym girl, I can always just go to another gym right down the road. I don't play around at my favourite gym which is an independent mom and pop hole in the wall.

So here's the thing, don't let the head phones stop you. She's wearing them to listen to music just like everybody else. However if she has no head phones at all, that's a big fucking green light.

Just write your name and number on a piece of paper and give it to her discreetly, and walk. It makes it less awkward for her. The last thing she wants is for everyone to know she's a gym ho.

The idea here is physical attraction, not game. Hopefully you look good and are in the upper echelon of your gym. Being that the gym is all about looks anyway, its pretty much the only thing that matters.

Give it a try. With any luck, you'll be easing your way into some fresh gym pussy in no time.

Can Be done. I've had to do this to get leads when I worked at a gym. Your best bet is gonna be a globo gym or alternatively getting a pair of rings and working out outside near a bunch of girls passing by(I.e the beach). Choose the nicest one possible,courts,saunas etc.

-Chop it up with the dudes who work at the gym. They know what time it is when it comes to this and thats usually what they're discussing anyways. Go beyond talking about protein powder and bench press and have real conversation. Safegaurding yourself so to speak. If you aren't so big uptalk your other hobbies..people respect people who do other things outside of lifting and lift to stay healthy/support that thing as long as its fairly interesting. That way you have some street cred and are less likely to be kicked out/just know people in general. You'd be suprised how many connections and people you meet working in a gym so you never know if these dudes can help you out.

-Use common sense to tell which girls wanna be hit on.
-Old miss chatty kathy's are a good bet(older women who are in shape and have nothing better to do so they use the gym to socialize)
-Make up and sluttier clothes let you know she might be down for business. Headphones in all the way from her car and an intense look are a no go. You guys ever think that some of these girls come to the gym just to meet in shape dudes? Open body language,does she chat with anyone,wonder around,check her phone,does she talk to the trainers all the time,etc

-Best places to do it.
-In the mobility area. This gives you incentive to do some mobility work,foam rolling,neck bridges,hand stands,box jumps or whatever non weight lifting stuff that will save your body from locking up in the future. I'd practice take downs and grappling stuff for cardio and to remember how to double leg and head throw somebody. Maybe work on some cool skills like headstands,one arm pushups,that way you have some tricks up your sleeve. If you can talk shop with them about gymnastics,arch holds,hollow holds,scapular strength,etc that can be helpfull with girls who have done gymnastics,burlesque areal stuff,pole fitness,ballet...

-If its a nicer gym the big stretching/dance studio area that is pretty big is the most private way to meet them. If your gym has heavy bags here hit the heavy bag and take a genuine interest in how to develop flexibility from the girl doing splits because you want to improve your boxing inbetween rounds. Use the heavy bag as a gpp tool and practice take downs on it if you dont know how to box but do grappling. Or you can use this room to do jump rope or agility cone drills.

Those places are game for any girl cause they won't be as intense or into they're work out and are either warming up or cooling down. The gym floor is only good for moments of oppurtunity or girls who really aren't heavy into their work out.

-A third option is to hangout with the dude at the front desk who scans peoples cards and chop it up. Take turns throwing out compliments to every girl who comes in weather shes 50,fat,or a bombshell and see who's down to do business.

It's a tough call and something I've given a lot of thought to. The gym I got to is loaded with babes in their sports bras and skin tight leggings, modern female gym fashion really is a sight to behold. When I was younger and getting into game I made some gym approaches, they went ok but both girls had BF's. Main reason I did it was because I felt the DNA pull/"The Compulsion" as I call it. Did it a few times last year, I just went up and said "hey, what's your name?" and then feel it out from there. It's a goal of mine to either bang or date a fitness bitch.

The gym is logistically a terrible place to approach girls in my opinion.

The only way I can see you being wildly successful with gym approaches is if you’re ultra jacked and have everyone staring at you because of your physique, which most likely isn’t the case.

I prefer the typical way. Be friendly and social with everyone. Become cool and popular. Earn trust. Make a move. Game part between the verses in the meantime of that process.

Easy tried and tested. I got way farther by befriending staff (guys mostly) and getting involved in gym life in general than trying to chat up that one girl with separate dedicated approach.

Slow game not for impatient types.

Some random thoughts...

"Gym dates" are actually fun. Even if you belong to Planet Fatness, taking a girl to the gym can be a good time, especially if you're in good shape. Challenge her to contests, like who can do more stairs at a higher level, run on the treadmill faster, etc. If you belong to a fancy gym, bring a plate and play some racquetball, squash, basketball, etc. with her. I love bringing plates to the gym with me, and they all like going there with me. It's fun, it costs me nothing, and I get a workout in.

Picking up women directly on the gym floor in the middle of a workout never works. I hate to give into women's bullshit, but it's so pedestrian to approach a woman and "show her" how to work out or compliment her on her form. Pretty much every relatively alpha guy tries this, and it pisses them off more than generates attraction. Even good looking guys.

I don't go to the gym to meet women, even though my gym is filled with them. However, I will start chatting up a girl in the elevator, the cafe section, or if I'm waiting for a lane in the pool. If I'm on the workout floor, chances are I have my headphones on, so do they, and I'm not interested in interrupting what I'm doing.
