Of course he was. Cops don't give a flying fuck about you or any other citizen. Protect and serve my ass. They're the girl scouts of the state; raising money for pointless shit.

Slapping the car was an emotional outburst. Don't pull that move unless you're looking to fight.

Yeah she was a crazy cunt. Most broads are. Did you honestly think you'd win her over by being rational?

Best advice is to not let it get to you and document any interaction with law enforcement. Humans by and large are generally dumb and irrational, myself and law enforcement included. In his mind, he's "protecting" his daughter. No kids on my end but if someone fucked with my dog I know I'd respond irrationally. That protective instinct is tough to override.

Put yourself in his shoes. The dude probably dropped out of community college and decided to become a cop. Marries a 5 and knocks her up. His 'princess' is nearly assaulted in a parking lot by some jackass who jumped behind her car. How would you respond given the available information?

Man, never give your real name to a hysterical, Western World-entitled, chubby-5 (meaning, not properly fucked, so perpetually angry at men) woman!

For example, I am proud to say that no chubby-5 female in the world ever learned my name or address.

Your mistake is such, captain, that we should exert extreme military sanction on you, as in this other captain's case:

Ha. She's a chubby 5.

Yeah. I seriously fucked it with that decision. I guess, in my arrogance, I was calling her bluff...except she wasn't bluffing. Her dad really is a psychopath.

I gave my address when he called me. Like I said, he initially sounded civil on the phone.

Don't do anything illegal.

If you have a car, drive the speed limit and never over, and do everything by the book.

Based on what you described, he was trying to scare you and bait you into making a mistake. So don't. If this happens again in the future, just walk away, or say "hey watch your driving" and then move on.

edit, the other guys have already addressed your mistakes, what I don't get was, this girl was chubby, we should all know that fat women aren't right in the head(they are never worth talking to, ever and should be invisible to you), so to not bother trying to engage them, and they should be invisible to you, instead of seeking out anything with them, just avoid them all together.

Yup. And I have a friend who's an attorney. I've been trying to remember more elements of the screaming from the daughter but that's already slipping.

Thanks for the help guys, I was a little freaked out a few hours ago. I've had a gun pulled on me twice in my life and this was more threatening by far.

There are some basics of writing down notes that are admissable in court.

Obviously the notes have to be dated but what a lot of people don't know is DONT LEAVE ANY BLANK SPACES.

Even if you have to write a rough draft and do a proper copy afterwards, make sure it's intelligible from start to finish without jumping backward and forward in time. When you're done, eliminate any open spaces like a margin or a blank space at the end of the last page with a suitably sized box with a big X through it. If you leave open spaces it can be determined that you were planning to leave a spot to alter or add something convenient at a later date and those notes may become inadmissible. Grit your teeth and ignore the concept of paragraphs. It needs to be one giant block of text.

Focus very carefully on the following in this order:

When did it happen.
Where did it happen.
Who was involved.
What did they do.

Don't lie. A particularly famous judge says correctly "you don't need to have a good memory if you tell the truth". If it's established that you're lying on even a small, seemingly inconsequential detail then your credibility it shot.

Only add the WHY where it pertains to yourself and only in a manner that makes you the victim. "I put my hands up because I was afraid" for example.

DO NOT speculate on the motives of anyone else. For example "she was acting aggressively because she's unhinged". This will only be used against you in court as a means to establish that your actions were determined by some sort of immediate and pre-existing bias.

Here in Australia we have justices of the peace who can witness a document and sign/date it to authenticate that it was witnessed to exist at the xxth of July 2017. If a similar service exists in America then use it.

p.s. DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE IMPORTANCE OF SOLID NOTES. Prosecutors overburdened with shit cases who have to pick and choose what they're going to pursue will avoid picking up cases against defendants who appear to have their legal shit together. Particularly cutt-throat public servants who care about nothing but their win-loss ratio and who want to force bargains for quick, easy guilty pleas.

The public will judge a man by what he lifts, but those close to him will judge him by what he carries.

We have what is called a notary public here in the USA. I don't know if it is a similar thing, if you tell them it is about a legal matter where you think it could end up in court, that might be something they can notarize.

I've only had to get things like signatures notarized but I've never been to court. Maybe one of the lawyers on here can clarify?

Mercenary said it all really.

First - you don't hit someone's car unless she was really close to driving over you and even then - if that was the case, she would hardly be able to react and you would have been hurt anyway, so I guess you were not in danger.

If I had reacted the same way to every moronic driver who cut me off, or almost killed me, then I would have to be a serial killer or dead by now.

Also - what made you think that her cop-father is likely to take your side? Of course he is going to hear her side of the story - it's his fucking daughter. Even if he knew she was a psycho-cunt, he would likely take her side and punish you for wasting his fucking time.

And I agree with the others, don't do anything stupid, if you see him again, say "Good Day, Sir" and he will soon forget about it.

Well apparently most people are more interested in berating a fellow member than helping him in regards to possible future altercations with an entitled cunt and her crooked cop father.

A fucking black marketeer aiding the sale of drugs and guns got more love than this.

With friends like these...

Anyway, back on track. This article may be of interest to you. Without knowing what kind of phone you have it's hard to tailor advice on apps that record video and automatically back the file up or upload it to a cloud server.

Unless she filed an actual complaint, he not only left his jurisdiction while on duty to threathen a civilian, but left records both on 911 and both your phones that he contacted you in a threathening matter outside his jurisdiction? And you are worried?

Id say you go full victim on his ass. Or tell him to stop harrassing you or you will.

Good point, and as per LDN's advice, include the exact date/time of the call in your notes.

No, she never called 911 and neither did I. When I called her bluff about getting her dad there to settle it, I suggested calling 911. To my knowledge, she never did. She called her dad and he called me from his personal cell phone and stopped by after his shift (I assume it was after).

I have those records saved.

Look - nothing happened so far. I would tell the same to my friend. I would back up my buddy to defend his life and bury the bodies no questions asked, but with this - sounds like Nothingburger - except big emotions.

Shoulda woulda - of course you should have hit the record app on your phone and have it all on tape. Then the cop would have more to lose than you if he ever pressed any charges on some bullshit.

Most guys would have likely left after the first exchange of words with a fat 5. You wave it off and walk it off.

Let's back up here a moment.

I do agree with LDN about not giving OP unnecessary grief, but pedestrians go on and on and on (and on) about right of way pertaining to them and cars when they know the world is full of incompetent/plain dangerous drivers.

It does not matter who's right when your body meets a 3,000lb pile of metal.

Even if OP was in the right, surely experience tells all of us that we stay out of car parks as much as possible when ambling along as pedestrians. Maybe OP had to be in the exact square meter that he was in at the time she backed out. That said, any time I walk into a car park, I'm looking for someone in the driver's seat for ANY car I walk past.

Life is too short and other people are too poor for me to want to worry about being hit by a car, irrespective of where the law says I can go and should expect a driver's compliance.

The vast majority of people driving past you (or into you) have next to no insurance other than the bare minimum, no assets you could seize if you ended up crippled, and, if it counts for anything, little or no goodwill for them to go out of their way to keep you safe from their stupidity.

Captain, you shouldn't give your address over the phone, including to policemen (or people pretending to be such).

For if policemen have a legitimate interest in you, they'll already know your address, or, say, have an official warrant to obtain it. They have no business asking for it "casually" over the phone.

Be sensible from now on, captain! If someone asks for your address, just answer: Wot?!

^ i agree with the above. When he calls you can hear him out, entertain him whatever but when he asks for your address just tell him its none of his business, you dont owe him jack-shit.

You 'slapped' her car and then had a little argument with her, shit like that happens all the time. But then the 'cop' comes to your house with a gun trying to bully you and make something happen lol wtf.

97.99% chance he's a blowhard who went back to his little princess and told her how you were shitting your pants in terror after he tore you a new one. His buddies drive by a couple of times so he can strut around thinking he's top dog. He moves on.

2% chance him and his buddies are going to fuck with you once off e.g. moving your car from your driveway so it is illegally parked then getting it towed, smashing a tail light then pulling you over. Something petty that will cost you money.

0.01% chance you're going to be royally fucked. Normally they reserve that for people who make an official complaint against an officer.

The man left his job while on duty to go out of his jurisdiction to come to your home and have a lunatic meltdown on your front doorstep while threatening you while in uniform and in possession of a firearm. A man acting as a law enforcement officer who didn't take a step back to consider circumstances or go in with a level head to the situation. I would be very concerned. It's almost certain he's one of those incredibly overprotective princess syndrome fathers, and it's only made exponentially worse by him being a cop.

He now knows where you live and almost certainly grabbed your plate number and vehicle description on the way out. Who knows what he does with that information. You could be put on some little in house shit-list the cops have and be constantly harassed and pulled over every time they come across your vehicle. They could harass you at home, and yes, constantly driving by like that is harassment. This cop could lie out his ass and get his buddies so worked up they frame you for some crime. Or maybe they just start constantly pulling you over and attempt to bait you into one. This is law enforcement in the United States, where they can civil forfeiture whatever they feel like from citizens anytime they want. I definitely haven't thought of all the ways they could fuck with you. And I wouldn't be willing to take that chance.

Spectrumwalker and Leonard have good advice that I would take. I don't know what else I would add since I haven't been in a situation like this before. It would have been ideal if you had gotten his name and/or badge number. Or some identification from his squad car. That way when you went to the station you aren't grasping at straws to identify him and they don't take you seriously. If you know where the daughter lives that might help. It's up to you if you want to see if it blows over first or not, but the man came to your home and did all that. At the very least make sure you have it all down on paper and have that lawyer number handy. Might be a good idea to have a quick talk with the lawyer about your options first.

Shit like this reminds me why I never want anything to do with the parents of the chicks I am involved with. Either the father is an overprotective sexual guardian of his princess and/or her mother is some manipulative controlling sociopath.

Either inform the cop father that the drama has turned you transgender.
Or advise the cop that you've converted to Islam.
