I am glad McGregor got his big pay day. Maybe now he will be able to afford some clothes that fit instead of having to wear his stuff from 6th grade.

Looks like we got ourselves a full break guy right here.

The no break, skinny jean fad is the male version of the dreaded female capri outbreak of 2003.

I hear my male staff members talking incessantly about every little facet of these press conferences. Lots of times I use their reactions to public events as sounding boards for their demographic, so I'm confident this is going to be a record breaking draw for all parties involved. I've already secured $1000 in 1:1 bets on Floyd... Will likely just throw a big employee party with the winnings so it won't sting as much, but this is how much people hate him: that they'll willingly put aside facts, reason and objective oddsmaking and bet against someone they hate.

What are the odds that Floyd ends up broke one day? It would be shocking but for now it's not out of the question. He already long ago made enough to never have to get out of bed for the rest of his life. But, who knows? He apparently spends up to $10 000 a month on haircuts.

Very, very low IMO.

Floyd isn't stupid. And it appears he has a great team around him managing his money.

He isn't Evander Holyfield, he's more like George Foreman.

I disagree. He is neither but isn't a savvy business guy. Mayweather has all his money tied up in 3 things:

Boxing
Himself (Brand)
TMT

-Boxing is degressing each year and he is it's biggest draw. He can promote fights and control that market but the pot will continue to shrink over time.

-His brand is tied to him as a boxer and personality and that can only keep up post boxing if he can continue to be a showman and be a larger than life figure. Mayweather will have to continue to be a clown and buy tigers and expensive cars as nothing else will get him headlines if he isn't fighting. He has out himself into a corner.

-TMT sells Chinese T-shirts, key lanyards, coffee mugs, all low level crap that you will find in Target.

Mayweather isn't building Condos or Real Estate. He didn't have high value product tied to his brand (Jordan Shoes). He isn't investing in startups. He isn't owning Starbucks or Insurance outfits. He isn't even opening up restaurants. Overall he is showing poor business approaches and the only thing that saves him is that he has so much money, likely closer to a billion when all is said and done that he physically will be unable to spend it all in his lifetime.

Look at what Magic, Foreman, all did in putting money towards cash flow producing ventures and going after assets. Lebron James is slowly following this lead and even dudes like Jordan own real estate, car dealerships, restaurants, etc that all add cash flow and income to their bank account.

Honestly I think McGregor's chances are being underestimated.

Aside from being bigger, taller, younger, stronger,etc..

He's using the trash talk to bait floyd into trying to knock him out. Here he is a boxing newb talking so much smack...you know its getting under Floyds skin.

The truth is it would be an embarrassment to boxing if floyd goes for a points based win. He HAS to finish him.

Trouble is I don't think Floyd could knock out McGregor with good hands, little yet the brittle ones he has. The man is used to taking shins, knees, and elbows. It's just a totally different league of punishment.

If Floyd unleashes his full arsenal on McGregor to no effect, hes fooked. If they clinch, hes going to get ragdolled and probably a couple discreet elbows in the face.

This isn't even considering the possibility that McGregor might go full mma on him. Sure, it'd be a violation of contract and he'd forsake his prize money. But who cares? He'd win, and still be set for life with sponsors, advertising,etc...

@ churros that's for the casino games. I would not recommend doing that. I'm talking about the sportsbook for the McGregor vs Mayweather fight. But the $3,000 bonus they speak of is that they will match any amount up to $3,000 but the catch is they lock it up and release it incrementally the more you play. So you have to keep on playing to get your full bonus back. I would not recommend online casino games because they're rigged as fuck.

I learned this the hard way using online books for election betting. $1200 locked up in bogus bs where you gotta spend money to get your money back. Of course they will let you get your original money back easy, but if you want that pay day you gotta play games. BS.

We all know Conor has maybe a 0.01% chance of winning this fight, but this video gives a pretty good idea how it might happen if lightning strikes, and if lightning is going to strike for anyone, it's Conor. He's got a powerful mind.

The underrated aspect is Connor is more crazy than Mayweather, with none of the pressure on him at all to win. I'll bet on crazy every time as the most crazy competitor typically, can will himself, somehow, someway, to win.

I would count it as a win if he can make it to the end of 12 rounds without brain damage.

And I'm serious. That would be an incredible feat for a guy who has never fought a pro boxing match in his life.

Yeah I started getting this impression too after watching some of his videos last night. Guy is absolutely nuts. I'm starting to think he actually has a chance because he truly believes he can do it and that psyches out his opponents.

Conor is an 0-0 boxer who got outboxed twice by the only MMA fighter with good boxing (Nate Diaz) he fought. He only won the second fight because he mixed it up with kicks.

If Mayweather loses then boxing might as well have been revealed as a farce. Conor only wins is if all our preconceived notions about boxing turn out to have been false. All the talk of size, "angles", age and physicality are irrelevant compared to the gulf of technical skill that should exist between the two.

In a way Floyd hit the jackpot with Conor. He can't have thought he'd ever find an opponent so comparatively unskilled who is as good enough at promotion to still turn the fight into one of if not the biggest in history.

People are actually understating the size issue. McGregor is the biggest guy Mayweather has ever fought. For example Canelo, who many people are comparing in size to McGregor, is four inches short of McGregors reach. McGregor has an eight inch reach advantage over Pacquiao and a ten inch advantage over Hatton. Mayweather will, for one of the first times in his life, go into a fight without a reach advantage, the only time I can remember this before was vs de la Hoya who still has a shorter reach than McGregor. Conor is a big 155er and I don't think he ever had any business fighting at 145, his photos for those weigh ins were a joke. I've only seen him fight at 155 twice (which itself is a disgrace) once for the Cagewarriors title and once for the UFC title, both times he looked absolutely electrifying and unstoppable, getting this fight at 154 was a huge win for Conor. Because we are so familiar with seeing Conor dehydrated half to death at 145 we underrate his athleticism, he is a faster, sharper and stronger fighter at 155. McGregor will go into the fight with a size and athleticism advantage. Given Conor's physicality and experience in combat sport, I don't see him being hopped around the ring like Hatton. Mayweather will play the percentages and win a comfortable decision, if he goes in looking to embarrass McGregor he could take some damage and possibly be KO'd. This is all assuming that Conor was going close to full tilt in boxing training between the Eddie Alvarez fight and this announcement and was doing some boxing training with an eye to this fight since Diaz 2.

You're forgetting Diego Corrales 5 ft 10 1⁄2 in (179 cm) taller than Macgregor. Corrales was a world champion, and had more skills with his hands than MacGregor will ever have in his life, and Corrales was destroyed by Mayweather.

Mayweather is tough as teak, anyone who thinks otherwise is kidding themselves. He plays up the pretty boy, 'I don't take any punishment, it's all a science' thing, but that little fucker is as hard as a coffin nail.

Also, the myth that MMA is somehow tougher than boxing because it has kicks and elbows needs to be dispelled. Boxers take FAR more punishment both in training and in competition than any MMA fighter does. It's not to say boxers are tougher than MMA fighters necessarily, but to suggest that because CM occasionally eats a knee or an elbow he is somehow familiar with a level of abuse a fairy like FM can only dream of is absurd. FM is tough as old boots, and CM has no hidden MMA advantage that is going to shock FM.

McGregor may have a longer reach, be bigger, etc etc, but it'll all count for nothing. FM's shoulder rolls and positioning will take all of that away from an amateur tier boxer like CM.

Floyd has brittle hands, and no knockouts in a long time, it's true. But this is fighting top tier, much younger, boxers. For a guy like Floyd, CM is just there to be hit, and it will pose a lot fewer problems for his durability. He'll land at will, on the target, without getting too many awkward angles - which are what really fuck up your hands.

Personally I don't see this going past 6 rounds. Floyd would still KO most fighters below world level through cumulative punishment. CM is a LONG way below world level as a boxer.

Conor should lose 99.9% of the time, but he's not as much of a boxing novice as the mainstream sports media are playing up. He started boxing at age 12. Six years before he began training MMA. In contrast, Jeff Horn and Anthony Joshua started boxing in their late teens.

Despite the fact that Conor wouldn't have been putting in the same boxing hours as a Mixed Martial Artist, he would still be doing at least an hour daily. Without factoring in any cross over skills from his other stand-up disciplines, Conor would have a similar amount of pure boxing hours as a Jeff Horn or Anthony Joshua.

As I said, he should lose, but the 0-0 boxing record is less relevant than the MSM play up.
