Hungarian Government Going After Soros-Funded University

In another bold move by the based Hungarian Fidesz government and Viktor Orban, the perhaps most "prestigious" universities in Hungary is under threat of a shutdown. If you aren't aware, this university was created and funded by none other than our favorite Moloch-worshipper, Uncle Georgie Soros.

Here's some facts from Foreign Policy, who seem to be supporting the school:

Quote:Quote:

Yet this modest press and the university that houses it are under direct attack by Hungary’s right-wing prime minister, Viktor Orban, whose government has added an amendment to anti-immigration legislation that would regulate the movement of international staff and students for unspecified “national security reasons.”

The Central European University (CEU) operates in the English language; its 1,440 students come from 108 nations; more than half the faculty and the large majority of the administrative staff are Hungarian; and the rector is the distinguished intellectual and former Liberal Party politician Michael Ignatieff, who is Canadian and married to a Hungarian. The effect of the proposed law would be to “make it impossible for the university to continue its operations,” according to the CEU.

And here's a bit more from the BBC, who also speak of asylum speakers in shipping containers [Image: icon_twisted.gif]

Quote:Quote:

The EU has warned it could take legal action against Hungarian legislation cracking down on higher education, non-governmental organisations and asylum-seekers.
The deputy head of the bloc's executive Commission, Frans Timmermans, said it was determined to uphold EU values.
Thousands of Hungarians have protested against laws which could see the closure of a prestigious university.
Hungary is also forcibly housing asylum seekers in secured shipping containers.
There was a serious question whether that was compatible with EU law, Mr Timmermans said at a news conference.
He said the Commission would consider its next steps in coming weeks and would act there were no positive developments.
"Taken cumulatively, the overall situation in Hungary is a cause of concern for the Commission," Mr Timmermans said.
Hungary's increasingly radical right-wing Prime Minister, Viktor Orban, has declared war on liberalism, reports BBC's Nick Thorpe, in Budapest.

Now, this is a huge step for the Orban government. If this university-banning proves to be the watershed moment for Hungary being in the EU, then we truly know that Soros really does control more than we think.

I get the concerns over academic freedom, but it is a huge step in tackling Soros' crooked political dealings and influence.

Through all of the bullshit and intrigue going on now between Syria, the US and Russia, I thought some good news from the good old Magyars would help ease some pressure.

George Soros needs to be strung up by his ballsack on a live internet feed, the only thing people like him understand is force, would like to see people like him where they belong, in jail.

The trillionaires are strong even there:

Demonstrations of "love" for the psychopaths who have a couple of their NGOs closed.

Still - Orban's support is over 75% despite some brainwashed ones coming out in support of madness and lies.

Crossposting from the Trump thread:

Now apparently, the US State Department has put Orban under such pressure that he has rescinded or at least suspended the decision.

Here is the key paragraph in English (more or less)

However, his maneuver against Central European University has the effect of blowing an icy wind from America. The US Department of Foreign Affairs called for a "suspension of the implementation of the law". A representative of the State Department, Hoyt Yee, negotiated in Budapest mainly on the CEU law, although his long-term planned visit was devoted to entirely different subjects.

It sems that George Soros has plenty of influence in the Trump Administration.

Even if this incubator for SJWs unversity gets expelled from Budapest, sadly there are more than enough potential host candidates. Vienna, Prague and Vilnius have already offered to become the new host cities, and recently the Croatian opposition MPs have requested our PM to invite the CEU to relocate to Zagreb.

I heard Lukaschenko simply shut down all the University in Belorussia; they were just havens of 'resistance' and little to no actual scholarly productivity.

The Hungarians seem to me to have firmly had their shit together the past few years.

One of them was the European Humanities University which relocated from Minsk to Vilnius in 2004.

I disagree with Orban on a number of issues including his proposed ban on communist symbols (while leaving neo-fascist ones untouched) but he is right on the money this one.

Anything that has the Libtards in a huff is good.

Guess who the President of the university is? None other than Micheal Ignatieff, one time leader of Canada's Liberal party before Trudeau Jr. took over.

The shitlib guardian put out a piece that actually wasn't completely terrible about Hungary. This guy calls out the left on their double standards.

Quote from the article

"Let’s go over a few facts many west of Vienna seem unable to understand. Hungary is a democracy. It has a wide range of political parties (a lot more than, say, the US, which is only one party away from being a one-party state). It has free and fair elections. It has a parliament that passes legislation. The quality of legislation can vary greatly, as in any democracy, but like most legal matters that is a matter of keen debate. If citizens are unhappy about the legislation, they hold demonstrations, as they have been doing."

Funny when the US state department and Soros controlled USAID attacks Hungary for being undemocratic when the US has only two parties and a much more divisive and in some ways much more dysfunctional society.

http://www.politico.eu/article/orban-ask...ation-law/

"Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has requested to personally appear before the European Parliament during a debate Wednesday over his country’s controversial new education law seen as targeting Central European University for closure.

Orbán has frequently antagonized his fellow European leaders with policies seen in Brussels as nationalist and xenophobic, particularly on immigration, but they have had little success in forcing him to change course.

Orbán has been besieged by criticism over the new education law, which is widely considered an effort to force the closure of Central European University, founded by the billionaire Hungarian-American financier George Soros.

The European Parliament has scheduled a formal debate on the law for Wednesday afternoon. According to a Parliament official, Orbán sent a letter to Parliament President Antonio Tajani on Monday requesting to speak during the session."

^^ I hope he drops some subtle shitlord jabs and insults at them. Otherwise, his appearance before the EU Parliament won't make sense. Why appear before that cesspool of lazy apparatchiks, and thus give them legitimacy?
