[Data Sheet] For you Affiliate guys

This is my first data sheet, so pardon the learning process. My family operates a clothing website and I do all of the marketing. We are partnered with a large Affiliate marketing firm (middleman). I thought it would benefit the board here to post our top earners so that you can pick it apart and steal ideas for your own empires [Image: idea.gif]

Below are links to the sites that have generated over $1000 worth of comissions Jan - Present 2011

Pro tip: Run a coupon farm

Pro tip: If you are affiliated with a company that does not offer a coupon code LIE!!! I cannot stress this enough. I get 3-4 emails a week from people with BULLSH1T coupon codes trying to force them through and I have no idea of ever telling where they came from. (To ask them to be removed). Just make sure it is believable: Free shipping or 10% off order over $50 example.

I hate to sound dense, but do you mean each of the sites linked to generated over $1000 or altogether they did? How do the coupons fit into the business model - you just have their banners on your site to bring in additional income other than what you're getting from the clothing store?

Also, are you marketing through SEO or other traffic channels?

Thanks for throwing this out there!

I mean that my company has paid each of these guys $1000 + in the last 8 months. I realize that isnt much, but it is our best performing affiliates currently. We are a pretty small website.

We work hard at SEO and have a very successful adwords campaign.

These guys post banners, text ads or coupon codes to drive traffic. They are very good at making normal low prices seem like 'deals through their site only'. Click here to receive 70% off!! but really that just goes to our normal site page (which is 70% off retail).

They are typically on our mailing list and facebook page and scout coupon codes to put on their site. I routinely have new customers trying to use codes as old at 11/07 a code deceptively titled: '1107'

Oh - I get you now; these guys are affiliates for you. Sorry, I was confused. Nice, and obviously these coupon farms are getting a helluva a lot more money from all the other companies they send traffic to...nice biz model and thanks again for the share. Definitely food for thought.
