Go to any major hotel and pick up / ask for the "In your pocket" guide for Krakow (it's free). It's the most comprehensive guide for tourists and even has some off the beaten track stuff. I would recommend it for any city that they survey because they do a great job (website is at inyourpocket.com and also has some pdf's and phone apps but you're really better off with the booklet).

- Spare one day to visit Auschwitz (1.5 hour ride from bus station, can be arranged yourself or with as prepackaged tour (more expensive)). Very dreadful and touching place.
- Also consider (instead or in addition to Auschwitz) visiting the Wieliczka salt mines, using the bus line 304. It takes half an hour to get there, and the regular tours take about 3 hours. It's a fascinating and beautiful place.
- There are free, fun and informative walking tours in front of the Bazylika Mariacka that start every day at 10:00 pm. Led by a cool guy called Maček. He should still be around, unless he went to New Zealand to Hobbit casting or something
- Krakow zoo (zoologicky ogrod) is a bit to the west, reachable by a bus line from Hotel Cracowia, and is fun and well maintained
- The National Gallery in the City Hall on the Main Square (Rynek Glowny) has tons of excellent Renaissance and Baroque-era paintings, if you are into that.
- Almost every street near the Main Square has something interesting, like a smaller church, monastery, landmark or so. Also don't miss the Wawel Castle and the dragon statue underneath near the river. Try to get with the walking tour, they will help you with orientation.
- Galeria Krakowska (NE of the Main Square, near train station) is a huge shopping mall, although quite upscale.
- The Alchemia bar in Kazimierz (just 10 mins south of the main square) is a very nice, chill place. Not so many tourists, mostly Poles, light jazz and lounge music and candles as only illumination. I found the people very approachable. Of course, there are tons of classic techno and house clubs around the Main Square.
- Speaking of Kazimierz, you will often get better food and cheaper there than at the Main Square, where things are quite ovepriced

Hope that helps!

Pacmam, what do you look and sound like? American, UK, Aussie accent? Black, white, Latin? Fat, athletic, skinny, short or tall?

Would you rather wear a suit or a cargo shorts and T-shirt?

Are you a beer drinker, or vodka drinker?

Do you speak Polish?

All factors of how local girls will respond to you!

just back from a weekend in Krakow, and it was indeed VERY empty, all the bar/clubs I ve been to where either empty or sausage fest (Cien)

I'm white, 1m75, black hair, a bit latin and athletic but just spoke english with a french accent there, and dress with shirts this way: http://thekooples.fr/page-liste-5.html&n...snav=VESTE

I can confirm that black guys make a killing there, I saw a black guy in club Cien who was not good-looking or classy, most black guys I know look 10 times better, and he could just pick any chick from the dancefloor without the slightest game or dance move...I tryed to do the same but not successfully.

I just met girls that I found online before I got there and I m glad I did this because the town was empty. Indeed the 300,000 students come back in October.

Friday night I ve spent 4 hours with a classy chick who was modelling a bit, the vibe was good we got drunk on her initiative as she started to buy Vodka, then I got a bit drunk started to tease her and spanked her for fun...but she did not appreciate and 2 seconds later she was gone...and I could not find another chick, primarily because there was so few of them...

Saturday night I started with 2 chicks, not very good looking who ask me from the very beginning if I m up for a threesome...so we drink a bit and get into my room but once there, one of the chick says she does not want to do a 3some, and as my game need much improvement to say the least it was game over...
During the second part of the night I joined a super hot chick, very leggy, model type, we went to a club in Kazimir (jewish district), it was all good as we started to kiss a little bit....when the club closed we jumped in a taxi but when we arrived in front of my hotel she did not want to get into my room....man I could not believe that :-))

It s hard for me to judge Krakow as all the bar/clubs were empty...I ll probably go back there in October as I suspect the easiest chicks are the students who are not from Krakow...
