My current apartment situation: I live on the ground floor of a house, with my own entrance, 40m2 space, bathroom. Nice furniture, and cheap price for the size.
The catch is...that the landlady and her 2 kids live on the 1st floor of this semi-detached house, and this creates...logistical problems for game.
Even just coming back home at 1 a.m. on a Friday night is a problem, because I have to be "silent" and "careful", otherwise the kids upstairs might wake up (this experience made me dislike kids even more...), basically I feel controlled and constrained by my landlady. She's a nice person, but I can also feel that she doesn't like to have a single guy as tenant who shares her house...
So...I've been looking for a new place in my German city in the south for 2+ months, and finally I found a flat, in a block of flats, providing "anonymity" for gaming, close to work but also to an area full of bars and restaurants.
Looks good right? There's a different catch here...after signing the contract (starting in 2 months), I realize the apartment is too small! It's just 33 m2. I feel like if now I'll have the freedom to bring girls without any limit, but they'll feel embarassed for me, that I live in such a small place.
I'm in a mess basically...is 33 m2 "beta"? :-(
What is more beta?
- Having a small apartment
or
- Trying to cancel the contract with the landlord, after signing it and "giving my word" (I still haven't paid neither the deposit or the 1st month rent), so that I can then resume my search, this time looking for at least 40 m2...
Also, my parents come to visit me once in a while, and for 3 people, sharing 33 m2 might be a nightmare, even if just for 1 week.
Why the fuck didn't I realize that it's too small before signing the contract? Because I've been under stress recently, plus borderline depressed...
