I rarely look at reddit unless its for VERY Niche interests and I clicked over to the front page after looking at a certain language learning sub and saw this story on the front page:

I was scratching my head so I decided to copy pasta a comment someone wrote there, it has a lot of questions that popped into my head once I thought about it:

Yeah the whole thing seems kind of sketch, not many redditors are thinking straight. oh well, Redditors gonna reddit.
The fact that the link isnt up anymore and people are "outraged" (without even reading the article) is pretty telling.
That and the guy decided to choose now of all times to do this, did he have an appointment with the doctor?
Any kind of Notice?
Was the guy aware that 100% of countries dont let you in without some kind of visa?
Are Redditors HERE not aware of that? Are Redditors (and this guy) aware that the only reason you can travel to other countries is because there are deals between their home country and the country they want to go to that allows Tourist Visas, and countries can change that at will, WITHOUT consulting with the citizens of that country, and that this can happen at ANY TIME?
Why is your 76 year old mom traveling if she's terminally ill in the first place?
Was she getting medical treatment in Iraq? Why?
How did she get an appointment to get treatment from a hospital in the U.S. with NO insurance, No U.S./State I.D. No passport?
There are just too many questions that just boggle my mind, I mean are people THAT easily manipulated by such a misleading headline? No one is wondering why the story was taken down from the site? I dont see this story on any other news aggregate site but Reddit, does this NOT look suspicious? Or do most of the smart people just not visit this site anymore. I remember when I was growing up in the 90's people would always say "question everything" or "Dont believe everything you hear on TV" What happened to questioning everything?
What happened to not believe everything you hear on TV? It's like we're doing the opposite now.
I feel that if CNN came on the news tonight and said "The Sky is now green." everyone would believe it.
SO many questions. So many.
