Usually when guys your size tell me about dieting, I go in their house and they have chips, candy, Soda, and beer everywhere.

If you've been using MyFitnessPal, what has been happening? Do you hit your calorie targets for a week and then cheat for two? Or do you keep changing your diet and going over as you constantly adjust? What is the longest number of weeks you have stayed below target?

Since you are already exercising, I think you need to get the diet thing down first.

No, I deliberately decided to gain weight while lifting in order to get stronger. Then I tapered off calories over the summer.

Last year I lost 35-40lbs. This year I gained 40.

Nothing is wrong with them IF THEY ARE OF A DECENT QUALITY..

I fear that the pot roast you are using is of an extremely low quality..

Lots of CHEAP red meat contains "[Image: Pink_slime]" and other artificial fillers.. Plus, the cows live in their own shit at cheap cattle farms.. Better to eat grass fed, free range cows.

But, I'm less worried about your home cooked meats or far more concerned about the frequency of fast food burgers, Wal Mart fried chicken, processed, packaged nitrate meats, etc. (too much of this stuff!)

When you make roast chicken.. Do you buy it from a store already cooked or do you cook the bird yourself??

I agree wholeheartedly with this. There's a time in a guy's life where he just wants, no wait, needs to get laid without all the hassle. Guys who are coming out of a divorce, guys who are working like mad, focusing on their careers and hell sometimes just because you want to fuck a 9. Rex, you're a few hours away from Montreal. Go there for a few days and go crazy. Fuck as many chicks as you can during that time. Who cares. It's legal, way cheaper (plus you have the favorable exchange rate) and those women are stupidly hot and YOUNG. These chicks love doing menage a trois, menage a quatre, bdsm whatever fucked up shit you want to do. The only bread I buy is bagels, which I will toast and have with an omelette.

The trick is to only buy fresh, natural food. Nothing processed, no ready meals, no cheap cuts of meat.

Don't buy junk food, chips, sweets or sugary drinks. Don't have them in your house. Throw that shit out tonight and go shopping tomorrow.

My regular shopping list varies very little:

7 bananas
Bag of apples
Bag of pears
3-4 lemons
2 cucumbers
Big bag of spinach
Celery
Avocados
Ginger (root)
Big bag of kale
Broccoli
1 red pepper
1 red onion
Jalapeños
Peanut butter (no additives or sweeteners - read the label)
Porridge oats
2 tubs of mixed frozen berries
12 pints of milk
24 eggs
Cold cuts of chicken and beef from the butcher section (deli)
Rice
Sweet potato
Rice cakes
Cheese
Bagels

That's about it, in and out within 20 mins. Things I buy in bulk:

Whey protein
Chicken breasts (no added water), and lean minced beef from a butcher
Ingredients for chilli - kidney beans, tinned tomatoes, mushrooms, whatever you fancy
Mixed nuts (unsalted)
Herbs and spices

Breakfast every day is a smoothie consisting of:
1 banana
Handful of frozen berries
Oats
30g protein powder
Milk
Spoonful of peanut butter

Lunch generally consists of:
Cuts of chicken (or beef when I fancy a change)
Rice or sweet potato cooked the previous night
Spinach
Cucumber
Apple
Pear
3-4 rice cakes

The food goes in a tupperware tub and I eat half around 11-11:30am.
Around 1:30pm I have the rice cakes and a pear.
Around 3-3:30pm I have the other half of the food.
I eat the apple walking home.

My evening meals are mostly pre-prepared. I defrost 6-12 large chicken breasts and enough ground beef for 6 portions of chilli, generally on a sunday morning every 2-3 weeks.

Stir fry the chicken in a large saucepan or wok and boil up a couple of broccoli, separate into meal size portions and freeze. Sometimes I will include mashed sweet potato for a complete ready to go meal. If I fancy rice I boil this from scratch when I'm ready to eat.

Cook the chilli and freeze up 6 servings (that's what fits in the pan). Freeze.

If I fancy a change or something light I have an omelette and a toasted bagel.

That's breakfast, lunch and dinner taken care of. The other thing I have daily is a green smoothie using the celery, avocado, kale, ginger and half a lemon. I usually down this with my evening meal.

The nuts are a great healthy snack.

I also make my own muesli, and I'll have a bowl with a protein shake for breakfast if I fancy a change now and again.

Of course you can prepare your own variations, that's just what I've been living on for years. It's tasty, healthy, easy and quick. The key is to cut the shit out and prepare all your own meals, it doesn't actually take a great deal of effort, just a little discipline.

I do allow myself a treat now and again. If I want a pizza or a takeaway at the weekend I have one guilt free because I know my diet is clean 95% of the time.

The biggest expense is the meat but it's one thing that I refuse to compromise on. Hence why it's better to buy it in whatever bulk you are able to freeze.

I'm sure other members will have their own staple diets, which they can suggest to you. I've just found what works for me, take from it what you will.

Ps, minced beef is also great for home made burgers. All you need is the meat, capers, red onion, and an egg or two to bind together. Add some mixed herbs for a bit of variety. Freeze them up. Delicious and cheaper than steak.

I'd pay particular attention to your correspondence with Gio and H1N1 as they're living proof of their advice whereas other sources can be questionable.

I encourage you to start a workout thread similar to General Stalin's here. It's rather amazing the progress and momentum you get when you track your lifts and hold yourself accountable within a community.

By the way, a random podcast that might inspire you is the Jocko podcast. He's a retired navy seal that led task unit Bruiser in Ramadi. He's incredibly intense and has a no nonsense attitude about relentlessly attacking life. Most of his podcasts are military oriented book reviews and memories from Iraq. They've helped humble, ground, and motivate me in the gym.

Mostly since finding RVF I just talk to girls in my daily interactions and try to see if the conversation goes anywhere. Usually it doesn't, but I use some variation of the GALNUC idea: if she asks me some personal questions I figure there's some interest and will ask to hang out/for number.

This generates about 1-2 possible dates per year.

I posted about some night game adventures. Mostly a waste but there was that one 40yo single mom I posted about here who asked me to kiss her. ("It's a trap!") After that I felt discouraged, because I realized how I am a magnet for low-quality, and always have been.

As important as nutrition and exercise is -and it is very important and should be worked on- I feel like this will end up as another way to distract yourself further, prolong this drought, and avoid resolving whatever is truly holding you back.

Improving your health should not be seen as something that must be accomplished to completion before you begin living the parts of life you have been missing.

Right now it's fitness and nutrition, next year it will be hairline or career or finances or some other reasoning to just wait a little longer.

You have all you need right now to start improving your situation with women, if you truly want to.

Lets say the 15 pounds are gone tomorrow- then what happens?
