The broadcasting corporation has come under fire in the past for diversity rows after BBC presenter Miriam O’Reilly won a case for age discrimination after she was let go from the TV show Countryfile, and later in 2014 the then director of BBC Television Danny Cohen said all-male panels on comedy series would no longer be accepted.

The 47-year-old, part of the program with a weekly audience of two million, was told his fate during an “awkward” phone call with a producer.

In an article for the Mail on Sunday he wrote: “Should I, as a white man (through no fault of my own), be fired from my job because I am a white man?”

Adding: “But, after I tweeted the news, I was contacted privately (quietly and off the record, because people are terrified of saying the wrong thing) by many presenters, actors and even agents who are now being told, and I quote: ‘We love your client. He’s perfect for the role. But we’re not allowed to even invite him in for a meeting because we’ve been told to cast someone Asian’.”

Trevor Phillips, former chairman of the Equality and Human Rights Commission, told the newspaper: “They are misunderstanding what the point of the diversity drive was about. This sounds like somebody who is basically climbing their way up the greasy ladder and they think hiring black and Asian talent is part of what they have got to do to look good.

“But they don’t genuinely believe black or Asian people are as good as white people.”

Others took to Twitter to voice their understanding of the BBC decision, which they said was part of helping to level the playing field.

The BBC recently announced new diversity targets to ensure women make up half of the staff numbers by 2020.

The corporation is also aiming to increase people with a black, Asian and minority ethnic background to 15 per cent, with lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender people should make up eight per cent of the staff.

Mr Holmes has won two Baftas, eight Sony awards and two British Comedy awards.

A BBC spokesman said: “Our comedy shows are constantly evolving and it is time to create opportunities for new regulars as the show returns this autumn.”

I've seen the inside of a bunch of departments at the BBC (i can pm quasi-proof if needed) ,each with many hundred people in them. In each department I saw 2 black people, tops.

diversity/affirmative action is really about putting white women into the workplace, not ethnic minorities. the "diversity" part of the “more women and diversity” is just to muddy the waters of what they actually mean. I think this flies under the radar, because this demographic (white women) are now every prominent in loads of industries, so it isnt as noticeable.

There were plenty of "women & diversity in the workplace" initiatives whilst i was there, but the actual content of these workshops was just focusing on women, and I only saw 1-2 non-white women the whole time i was there. So it became focused on white women by default. or maybe by design.

affirmative action has benefited white women more than any other group, yet ethnic minorities somehow catch the flak for this. Most fortune 500 companies are full of white women, with only a few token minorities.


So as far as the bbc is concerned, when you hear then discuss "diversity", they are just really discussing getting more white women into the workfoce.

And i don't think this is just limited to the bbc. I've interviewed at huge companies in the UK, like Goldman Sachs, Ford, ARM etc, and I havent seen anything to contradict the idea that affirmative action is pretty much for white women, and then some token minorites so they don't get sued.

Pretty much all media hubs are a lost cause anyway, I don't think we will see a change in the propaganda being spread regardless of the hiring policies now or in the future. The narrative must be met, until they go bankrupt because no one will watch or listen. I think we are a long way off from this and the terminal illness will drag out far longer than my lifetime.

Now, if you want to talk about this same diversity initiative in sports broadcasting, I'm open to suggestion on how to properly rid ourselves of tomboy announcers and pre-game hosts. I like to watch my favorite college team, usually carried by ESPN- it's always the same raspy sounding bitch's voice doing the play-by-play. It's almost unwatchable. As more of the older men retire, I know how their positions will be filled. It's only a matter of time before it's Alice Michaels and Christina Collinsworth on Sunday Night NFL games.

Same goes for the early shows on game day. They have some of the best resources to produce a quality program now that they have so many former players and coaches on the panel, but here sits this woman who has never played the sport, even as a child, trying to fit in and be funny, when she could be asking great questions to these hall of famers about the X's and O's. Instead, it's "Cam Newton seems like a nice guy for giving away footballs. Don't you agree with me? And did you see Antonio Brown twerking? So funny. I think they are going to fine him for that. Do you like end zone dancing? I like dancing. I went dancing with the girls the other night. From HIS perspective, it isn't Leftism. OK, so he might not be clued up on political semantics in the current year, but essentially what he said is accurate of the British state broadcaster.

It is a confusing framework to understand. On the ground the Left/Right paradigm still exists. The Globalist/Nationalist paradigm is harder to articulate, the powers that be are globalist, and many of them face opposition from Nationalists, many of who are not in power, yet. It's not a straightforward thing to articulate.

I used to work in the ticket sale department for the Baltimore Orioles baseball team and I can't begin the count the numerous blonde eye-candy I was surrounded by who didn't know the first thing about sports.
