Looking for a book on how a company is organized

I'm in the market for a good book on how companies are organized from the ground up. Something that isn't just a bunch of jargon, but explains how all of the roles within a company (e.x. managers, accountants, executives, employees, etc) interact in order to manage day-to-day operations.

Something similar to an economics book which shows how all of the 'parts' fit together to create a system, but in the context of businesses or corporations.

Depends on the company of course (even an individual can be a "company"), but a good starting point is Peter Drucker's management books (many available online in pdf), and searching for "corporate governance".

I think the issue is that there is more than one way to structure a company, so I don't think you would find something like an 'economics book'.

Right, but there are different economic models; so something which compares and contrasts some of the different company models and outlines their pros and cons would be an interesting read.

The Personal MBA is ok, but I found it more like a reference book that didn't really flow. Lots of nice tips, but it falls short of both being a 'program' and a catchy anecdote.

"The Game" by Neil Strauss for example, is a book that taught me the concept of game through an amazing anecdote. After reading, I understood what it was, the concepts and how to apply it without learning any boring repetitive technical shit. It would be nice to find a book pertaining to business that had the same effect.
