Due to my growing disdain for authoritarian government, I have been researching the South Pacific Islands with an intention to move in the near future, as my profession allows me to work very remotely. I have several islands in mind but would like some suggestions if anyone here can offer his expertise. Here are some preferred criteria:
-Small to medium population
-Easy access to uninhabited islands or areas
-Small government
-"No harm, no foul" police force
-Minimal ties to U.S.
-Minimal tourism
-Not *too much* of a "tribal culture" (asking locals for permission to enter water, etc.)
-Liberal immigration or residency laws (becoming full citizen in the future)
-Access to Internet if imperative
Any suggestions are much appreciated. Additionally, please let me know if this is a pipe dream that I should give up on now without wasting anymore time, as I have minimal experience with the South Pacific.
