I knew an older couple who refused to rent their properties (6 month traditional lease) to Pakistani students because you could literally guarantee it would be an utter shit-hole by the time they left, and the bond would nowhere near cover the cleaning and repair costs.

Other people in our society don't see it this way and have used the tools of "equality" to rectify this "injustice." I don't the mindset of complaining about not getting hosted. It's not rocket science, the first couple of places you rent, make sure to be 100% clean and leave it better than you found it. Then you can slack off after 5+ positive reviews, best luck is with professional firms renting through AirBNB they usually are easy to deal with in getting positive reviews. I've been rejected many times, I just assume it's because people forgot to update their calendar, why would people instantly assume it is something else?

You are mostly right, but, legally speaking, Airbnb does not fall, for technicalities, under the Civil_Rights_Act_of_1964 law.

This is just another one – Airbnb is now pozitively infected with particularly treatment resistant, highly aggressive strains of SJWs. Basically the first side of Airbnb's "diversity problem" is some hosts choose not to have certain guests because they're problematic or costly to deal with. So they're a loss to their business. For example, last time I rented at airbnb, I heard the owner complain that the place was a complete pigsti after a family had lived there for 4 days and not bothered to pick up any garbage, so the place was full of stinky garbage when they left. I asked if they were Indian, and he smiled and said yes.
The same thing happened at the place I rented before that too, in another city. An Indian family had left the place in a complete stinky mess, and the owner said unfortunately that can be a problem dealing with Indians. The board went nuts talking about how racist that was against Indians to say it, but that's just what people experience. Some Indians just won't touch garbage, and let it pile up until they leave instead. And that's costly and incovenient if you're the one who needs to take care of it.
The second side is, as you'd expect among the top 1% computer wizards who work at Airbnb, it's the usual; a few asians, an odd woman here and there, but mainly white guys (Jewish and non-Jewish). So then that makes them discriminatory, because so few women, trans and non-Jewish, non-East Asian minorities work there. And that's a call for affirmative action, since the a*hole sociology and feminsm majors and general fringe leftists who run these organisations see an invisible link between white guys making something and that something being a racist hate machine that keeps non-binaries and people of color down. It's patriarchy at work!
