All aspects of a typical SWPL encompassed in one article

Some of my favorite parts:

Quote:Quote:

You decide to share an article about Brexit from “The Atlantic”, which will somehow shed light to all your friends as to why it happened. The article is 1,000 words long — you only read half of it, but that’s good enough. It captures all the arguments you’ve been wanting to make for the past two months to your friends. Will this be the Facebook post that finally spurns your friends into action? You realize your Facebook friends all agree with your political views and social views already.

You realize your reservation with your spouse at the French Laundry is coming up this weekend. Your calendar app reminds you of this. You’ve been looking forward to it for months. You can’t wait to take perfectly Instagrammed photos of the meal to go along with your perfectly Instagrammed life.

Quote:Quote:

Your dinner conversation centers around how autonomous vehicles are going to be better in the long run than ordinary cars for a variety of reasons. And something about how Elon Musk handles meetings. You are all too busy making your own points and citing articles to really listen to each other. You order the $17 dollar Risotto and the $9 glass of Pleasanton-brewed IPA.

I'm fucking too busy eating my food to take pictures of it.

Instagramming your food. Fuck that.

I know there's some overlap between the SJW and hipster lifestyles, but this article seems to more perfectly encapsulate the latter.

Trying to sound intelligent but confusing similar words is a pet peeve. The one I've noticed most corrupted recently has been "weary" vs "wary". You're weary of something bad happening? No, that would mean you're tired. You're wary.

The author misuses "spurn" when he means to "spur" friends into action. Of course, it's unintentionally apt because Facebook political posts absolutely spurn your friends.

This is what gets me the most and even some members on this forum fall for this shit. You can't trust social media and tech companies to give you the unbiased truth about simple reality.

Why the fuck would you trust them to drive you around town out of your control ? Taking choice out of your daily life especially as it pertains to life and death is just another form of marxist group think.

That had to have been inspired by American Psycho.

Bret Easton Ellis does appear to be one red-pilled fag.

Stuff White People Like

It was a popular parody blog about 8 years ago that made fun of 'hip' or 'modern' white people interests such as yoga, coffee and the toyota prius.
