Need recommendation for Brazilian clothing brands

The title says it.

I'm staying for one week in Rio and would like to buy some new quality clothes for a good price before heading back to Europe.

Two weeks ago I went out shopping in Colombia. There is a really good brand called Arturo Calle. It's basically Hugo Boss quality for Zara prices.

Does a brand like Arturo Calle exist in Brazil?

Thanks for advices!

Brazilian fashion is more women-oriented. The only high end brand for men is called Osklen, it is more sports stuff. For more formal, I go with Brooksfield (you'll find one at every other mall), but it doesn't have a Brazilian flavor, they even import things from Italy, mind you...

Abercrombie

Tommy Hillfiger

Hollister

GAP

Osklen

Lacoste (the biggest one at the moment)

Brazillian people, especially chicks idolize brands, as a branded bum, basic t shirt, ragged shorts and a flip flop, and still have more status than a sharp dressed man with no branding,

one does not shop for clothes in Brazil , yeah the dollar is worth 3,57 R$ right now but it still more expensive than buying shit in the U.S.A, it will ALWAYS cost more, we pay one of the most expensive importation tariffs in the whole world

Reserva is a quality local brand. A bit preppy. One of the few brands that fit me (tall & skinny) well. It's a bit expensive though (R$ 200 for a polo or R$ 300 for a long sleeve shirt).

Amp is another decent local brand. A bit trendier and less expensive than Reserva.

As others have mentioned though Brazil isn't a great destination for shopping. Brazilians with money travel to the US to buy brand name items at 1/2 the price they would pay here.

Osklen is a sharp brand brazillians buy. It's Rio lifestyle oriented. Also brands like Reserva and Richards are trendy and has a lot of brazillian vibe in its fashion. Most of those brands focus in Rio lifestyle. Although I have to agree with the guys above: brazillians like to travel and buy american clothes at Florida's outlets. But in my personal opnion you should at least try these stores. I think you will like specially Osklen since you want something brazillian oriented.
