Progressives always work to remove all personal agency from people. It's people having Choice distresses them, and in best Leftist fashion, they work to restrict options whilst labelling it as 'Choice'. This is how you can tell when they've subverted an institution.
A couple of years ago, the Health District made a big show out of removing all the Soft Drink [Soda] Vending Machines from all buildings and replacing them with ones dispensing Juice, to 'lead by example'.
Unfortunately, they were photographed in the paper by the Public Dental Surgery, which caused a fuss when the Dentists pointed out that Juice was technically as bad for teeth as Soft Drinks, which was then backed up by the Dietican Staff saying many Juices had the potential to be just as fattening as soft drink and should only be consumed in moderation. By the time the Endoscopy department brought up the fact that this left no options for those with Acid Reflux I could no longer tell who was being serious and who was trolling.
All vending machines were removed a fortnight later. Like Smoking, you were only allowed to consume outlawed products past the wall marking the border of the grounds. The IT guys were sneaking their Coke in in thermoses, scared of being reported if seen by the wrong co-worker. These busybody co-workers, so concerned with 'Healthy Choices', all looked like the hippos in that video above.
