Philippines, Boracay asdfksheet
If you are in the Philippines and the city is boring you.... Why not go to the most beautiful beach in the world?

Boracay...
...is a small island with a population of 12.000 people. Because of its beaches, it's a famous tourist spot. However, because this is the Philippines, this doesn't mean a lot. It doesn't compare to tourist spots in other countries in SEA. Yes, there are Korean families and other Asians, some wealthy russians and a few backpackers. But they are there within a few months, and their presence provides some interesting opportunities.
Before I dive into the location, let me gents first inform you on the most important aspect:
The girls.
I was there for just 3 1/2 weeks, but I met two guys who both were living there 5 years +. They showed me the ropes and gave me a nice view of what's happening on Boracay.
One of them showed me that there are a lot of semi-pro's. These are girls who come from the province, sleep on the beach and take foreigners home for money.
Now, this isn't as bad as it sounds. He explained to me that they do this to make enough money to get by - which entails 1 or 2 paid bangs per month.
But in low season, there isn't any clientele. What happens is that they are hanging out on the island and are bored as shit. If you are able to socialise with them, like he has been doing, that means crazy sex. Both in quantity and quality. The semi-pro is amoral when it comes to sex, so if you are into that sort of thing, have the possibility to go there between may and november (low season) and can stay for a longer time (1 month plus), you can build celebrity status and really live a white god lifestyle. My friend isn't a rich man by any means, but his lousy earnings, nice condo (which is very cheap) and white skin are valuable to these women.
I did not have sex with this group myself, but I met quite a few of them. Some of them are pretty hot, but they come in all shapes and sizes. I literally didn't feel any different talking to them then most of todays females. They are amoral when it comes to sex - but let's be honest. How many of the girls you have fucked lately wasn't?
If you want to find these girls, go to the club insomnia. This is where they hang out at night.
My other friend who has lived there for some years informed me that all the tourist where looking for dick. He proceeded to demonstrate that just looking young and fit (even though he was already 38) and showing up was enough for him to get laid with cute Australian, Scandinavian and Russian girls any day of the week.
His taste is for white flesh, and these girls congregate around the 2 tourist clubs on the island. These establishments are not huge by any means, nor are they spectacular. They are just an excuse to hang out and have some beers and laughs. Don't expect a big crowd, but medium filled with 40-50 people each. They are right at the beach, which promotes opportunities for skinny dipping. If you are the naive, light-minded type of party guy who likes to have fun, you'll fit right in.
Also, I myself met a few girls while having meals around the beach. There quite a few Danish girls there, which makes me think there is a tour operator sending them to that specific island.
To sum it al up, Boracay caters to two specific niches:
If you like to have sex any day of the week wth amoral, handsome Filipinas, including with five at a time, go to Boracay. Especially between the months may and november.
If you want a pool of young tourists who are eager to hook up with light-hearted party boys with a majority being Scandinavian, Australian or Russian, go to Boracay. Especially between the months of december and april.
The island itself.
This is hands down the most beautiful place I have seen thus far. The beaches are truly beautiful, and the sea? It's like a light blue diamond that has come to life, and floats around you.
The first week on that island, I felt so alive and intensely grateful for leading a remote lifestyle. Especially at night, when the moon is bright, the place is very serene. Swimming in the see with the stars shining on you was an incredible experience of freedom and strength.
But after a few week, it became normal. And then what is left?
A small island that is suitable if you want to live secluded, in a beautiful environment with small nightlife and overall very happy people.
Condo prices are very cheap, so you can buy a nice place with guards and luxuries for little money. You can just focus on work, go out at night and pick up either semi-pro's or tourist girls.
In the evening, you can hang out with your island mates at Exit bar, which is where all the friendly and open people hang out. It doesn't look like much - has a local vibe to it - but it's great to enjoy yourself before you head into the night (Exit closes at 2).
Other then going out and working on a secluded tropical island, there are the usual suspects such as island hopping, clip diving and watersports. If you never get tired of for example kitesurfing, this is the place to be for you.
As a food lover, I was disappointed with the overal quality on Boracay. My weekly highlight became going to Shakeys. Local food was also more expensive then in the rest of the Philippines.
Also, there is not a high end gym that offers olympic weights. I went to Kingfishers Farm gym, which is 60P a day (1,3 USD). You can do free weights there, but expect an old-fashioned gym with a lot of rust and no aircon. However, the other men there were great to hang out with.
Although the internet is generally good, sometimes there's a power or network outage. This happens every now and then but normally doesn't last longer then an hour or so. The speed wasn't impressive, but nothing to worry about either.
Safety
Don't leave stuff on the beach when you go swimming, especially at night. Don't sleep on the beach at night, your phone and wallet will be gone. That's basically it.
It's a small island and there is police and a lot of guards. I did get the sense both were trusted, instead of Manila where corruption is very visible.
Lodging, how to get there, local transportation
You can find places on AirBnB, but I recommend going there and finding something on the spot. The walk-in rate is always lower then making a reservation and you can negotiate down on the spot. Especially in low season, everything will be cheaper.
You can get there by taking a plane to Kalibo from either Cebu or Manila. Tickets are dirt cheap (between 20-40 USD). From there you take a bus to a pier (2 hours), a short ferry ride (15 minutes) and then you're on Boracay. Average cost between 25-50 USD per trip.
Local transport consists of trikes and the back of motorcycles. A trike per kilometer is 6 pesos, and the motorcycle ride what you agreed on beforehand. I had a few confrontations with motorcycle drivers who refused to give change or demanded more once there. Don't worry and just be stern, if you sense they are on drugs (which some of them are) let it go and let them keep the 30 pesos change.
This was the Asdfk sheet on Boracay. Let me know if you have any questions down below and I'm happy to answer them. Special thanks to the poster who answered my question about which island to go to (pick three).
