Lima/Peru in the winter? (July/Aug)

Hey guys,

Wondering if those of you who have done Lima/Peru in the winter months (July/Aug) could give me some advice. I've read a bunch about Lima and Peru on this forum and it seems like it might be a good candidate for my next escapade--I've lived around a bunch of other places in SA already and feeling like I want something new. I was primarily thinking about spending the time in Lima, although i'm open to other suggestions as well if you guys have had good experiences, but I tend to like bigger cities as it's easier to game on tinder, etc.

Question is: how cold does it get there? I checked the weather averages and they say high is 67 low is 55, but I also read some stuff online that says that it feels a lot colder than that, in the Miraflores area especially. I know from Medellin, for example, if you look at the weather it often says it's overcast or raining but in actuality it almost never does.

Honestly I don't mind the cold that much, but my prior data points from other countries i've lived in tells me that warmer weather = less clothes = more open attitudes = easier hooking up, so that's why I wanted to ask you guys about your experiences. Thanks!

Not that cold; my numbers and experience in July show 60 to 65, low and high. It was a hot summer there so may be a warmer winter this July. July is high season I think with turistas but they are overwhelmingly in Cuzco on the tourist track. I didn't see many gringos in Miraflores in July. They only problem is the fog that makes the sky grey; although still a nice break from northern hemisphere heat.
