I've been writing quite a lot about maidsafe in the bitcoin thread, but on request of JJG I started a new thread about maidsafe.

Maidsafecoin has risen in price quite a lot since the minimum viable product was releasde for testing a few days a go. From trading at around 2USD cents only a few weeks ago to about 10USD cents as I'm writing this.

Anyone else in here who is invested in maidsafecoin of who is following the development?

There is no way to mine them. Once the network is launched you can farm coins which should be a quite easy to set up.

I did just watch the two videos in the op, since they are short enough.. 2 minutes and 6 minutes respectively.

Surely, I see this maidsafe can be very valuable as suggested in the videos, but really I see no reason that it could not be built upon the bitcoin network (since the bitcoin network offers lots of security and computing power already).

Also, monetization of maidsafe seems quite speculative at this point, and yeah, sure maybe you can invest some money and make a killing down the road... ... but I don't feel technically savvy enough to take such chances, at least not at the moment...
