Scottish Politician Charged With Hate Crime For Criticizing Islam

Quote:Quote:

A Scottish politician has been charged with a hate crime for criticizing Muslims in a series of "Islamaphobic" text messages sent after the terror attacks in Paris.

Scottish National Party Councillor Craig Melville allegedly messaged an "unnamed female Muslim activist" within his party and told her, "It's not personal I just f*cking hate your religion and I'll do all in I'm life do defeat your filth."

Another read: "And in your favour we live in an uneducated left lift loopy left wing society who is more interested in claiming benefits and being ignorant to the threat of your horrible disease which is a make believe c*nt in the sky."

"Horrible murdering Islamic c*nts."

Berlin police say they've raided 10 residences in the German capital in a crackdown against far-right hate speech on social media.

From what I understand, some of the people that have had their homes tossed by the Gestapo had no prior convictions and were not suspected of conspiring to commit "serious crimes".

While I respect that the police have their place in society and are obliged to attend large protests and the like, the officers who served these warrants and the judges who signed them should be noted by name and rank for a future date at Nuremberg.

The public will judge a man by what he lifts, but those close to him will judge him by what he carries.

German 'Nazi grandma' sentenced to 10 months in prison for Holocaust denial

Quote:Quote:

An 87-year-old grandmother was sentenced to 10 months in jail for Holocaust denial after insisting that Auschwitz was "not historically proven" to be a death camp.
That is "only a belief," Ursula Haverbeck told a court in Hamburg, causing German media to dub her "Nazi-Oma" (Nazi grandma) on Friday.
Haverbeck is a notorious extremist who was once chairwoman of a far-Right training centre shut down in 2008 for spreading Nazi propaganda.

Not a specific case, but as discussed elsewhere, Canada will clamp down on "transphobic" speech:

Quote:Quote:

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has announced federal legislation that would expand hate speech laws to include gender identity and gender expression.
If passed, the legislation would also make it illegal to prevent an individual from getting a job or to discriminate in the workplace on the basis of gender identity or gender expression.

The arrest of "nazi pug" owner:

Quote:Quote:

A man has been arrested over an online video that reportedly shows a dog making a Nazi salute.

The 28-year-old, from Coatbridge in North Lanarkshire, faces hate crime charges over the video, Police Scotland said.

The clip allegedly shows a pug sitting in front of a screen showing footage of Adolf Hitler and appearing to make Nazi salutes.

Officers said the video had been shared online and “caused offence and hurt to many people in our community”.

Massive increase in "hate speech" arrests in London:

Quote:Quote:

The number of people arrested in London for so-called “online crimes of speech”, mainly made on social media, has shot up in the past few years.
Six hundred and twenty-five arrests were made for online speech crimes in 2010, rising to 857 in 2015 — a 37 per cent increase in just five years.

This is interesting.

As I recall, the previous government voted to take 'hate speech' out of the Canadian human rights act.

Is Trudeau planning to reinstate it?

German leader of Pirate party arrested for insulting Turkish president

Quote:Quote:

Bruno Kramm, the head of the Berlin branch of Germany’s Pirate Party, was arrested yesterday for ‘insulting a representative of a foreign state’. During a protest he had quoted a satirical poem by the comedian, Jan Boehmermann.

Police arrested Kramm in front of the Turkish embassy in Berlin. The arrest came during a protest against the German government’s decision (earlier this month) to authorize the prosecution of the German comedian, Jan Boehmermann, over the poem he recited on German TV targeting the Turkish leader.

Hopefully this guy won't take a plea bargain. Stand firm and make them try that bullshit case. If there are even just one or two hetero guys 40+ years old on the jury there won't be a conviction. Jury nullification combined with a civil suit against the government for malicious prosecution are really the only ways an individual can beat these laws.
