Bogota Virgin

I have just bought my ticket to Bogota, for an April trip. This will be my first trip to Columbia and really looking forward to it. I have read and searched a number of things on this forum that will help me greatly.

But a simple question to those who have been there, done that, and maybe doing it everyday. I am trying to arrange my Bogota accommodations and I do have a tobacco habit, so I looking for a 4 or 5 star type hotel that has either smoking rooms or balcony. Also one that is close enough to the nightlife action.

thank you,

DS

There are already plenty of threads on Bogota with dozens of pages of useful info.

You might want to post your budget and how long you plan to stay. Look on airbnb if you are planning to stay for more than a week or so.

Do you plan on traveling outside of Bogota?

I think its time for a Colombia master thread, I'll start one next week, there's way too many Colombia threads floating around on here.

Sidney,

Your right, there is a lot of information already here that will help me out greatly. That is why I tried to only address the one need that I could not YET find an answer for. But perhaps if I keep digging I will find that answer anyway.
To flesh out my travel plans; I plan on staying only four days in Bogota, then off for a week in Medellin, back to Bogota for one last night, and then fly home. It is an twelve day recon mission. I have a nice AirBNB picked out for the Medellin leg. I was thinking of going the hotel route in Bogota simply because it is my first time in Colombia, I am only there a short time, and they would might be able to help me out a bit more. Like concierge services, taxis at the ready, hot waitress in hotel cafe, etc. As it is a short trip, my budget is more of a vacation budget, hehe. But no that doesn't mean I want to spend over $160 US per night. It appears however, that it might be hard to spend that much on a hotel in Columbia. Not impossible, I am sure, but also not necessary.
Hope that answers some of your questions, and hopefully I can get some more help on finding the right place. Oh, and guest friendly would be a big plus too. But here again, the guest friendly part, I will find in trip reports and that is why I only posted a question on the smoking part.
Thank you for your feedback,
DS

You aren't giving yourself much time, I don't know if you plan on using online game or not but you should get tinder plus just so you can get a few girls lined up BEFORE you arrive in Colombia.
