Just curious,

After reading the thread on Riga, I was thinking that it seems like all foreign cities (from South America to SE Asia to Eastern Europe) that were once easy lays for the Westerner have gotten harder due to massive tourist herds coming in due to lower travel costs and easy logistics due to the internet.

Does anyone know any cities that have gotten easier in the last 10 years? I figured there hasn't been alot of liberalization w/ regard to attitudes towards premarital sex in the last 10 years, so that's not a factor.

Quite the opposite I'm afraid. With the advent of the internet and the free-flow of information it brings every horny Joe is out there looking for easy foreign snatch. Most of our known poontang paradises has adapted - supply and demand. Logic dictates that the market in the areas where dudes are leaving would balance themselves but the fact is that guys on a "lads" trip like the cock-out italians in that Riga video can a lot of damage one week abroad and then come home and turn into submissive chumps.

Also, most emerging economies have been growing at 8% or even 10% per year, so over the last decade they have become 2-3x richer. In 2008-09 they paused a little bit, but overall, compounded growth has been tremendous.
So in EE for example you won't see too many girls now that have never seen a $100 bill and treat any foreigner as a superstar just because of his passport.

The reasons of why it is more difficult are probably an interesting discussion. I think Vicious and K-man are correct. I also don't think you can ignore the George Bush Factor. That guy really messed up our image abroad.

Amen. I say this to all Americans visiting Europe (ESPECIALLY Scandinavia). Say you are a democrat that voted for Obama, say you voted for change and give a lil' passionate speech about how proud you were to make history by putting Obama in the White House. THIS IS KEY. Agree with you there as well. One of the reasons I still consider America for every vacation is the cheap, quality lodging. Between the hotel chains beating each other over the head with promos, Priceline and fast-track hotel loyalty programs I can stay in a US hotel suite for <$100/night most days of the year (unless I'm in NYC *grumble*). If I didn't mind slumming it I could probably live out of a decent Inn for $350/week (which almost always include free wi-fi, breakfast and gym).

Anyone who want some perspective on this should read Paul Carr's The Upgrade which is basically about the author giving up his £1400/month London rental in order to live well in US hotels for a fraction of his earlier rent.

I have a friend who traveled thru Eastern Europe and Scandanavia 10 to 15 years ago and what he basically said is girls would take him home from clubs because he was American, which to them at the time meant something of a rugged, Cowboy, heroic figure, and because they rarely if ever got that opportunity to bang an American. Not counting 3rd world countries, US chicks are pretty easy. They're a pain in the ass and will often cop attitudes, but if you break through that or find a girl without it, they'll get drunk and fuck you on a dime. South American women, European women, they all seem to want you to take them out a couple times, and you know, actually respect them before they sleep with you. American women don't need that.

I also think there's just such a lack of competition in the US too. Whereas in another country, most guys are aggressive and approach, in the states, just the fact you approached her, didn't say anything stupid, are not nervous around her, and aren't offering to kiss her feet by itself makes you more attractive than 98% of the guys there.

Since I left the US, I have realized that I totally slept on the south. If I end up back in the states at some point, I definitely have a road trip planned to swoop some southern belles. And listen to a lot of blues and honky-tonk, and eat a lot of barbecue. Yeah.
