What's a good tablet to use for international travel? I could go with a 7 inch version or maybe larger. I just want something that i can use to surf the internet with once in awhile while i am abroad.

I don't plan to pay for a monthly access plan while abroad, will just use wifi hotspots. Other useful features such as a camera, gps, etc might be useful.

Would prefer to pay less than $300 so that i don't have to worry about losing it or being a target (even by other travelers!!). Thanks!!

They are still too big IMO to be practical for taking travelling, i'd be too wary about it getting broken, stolen, lost etc. A smart phone would be a much better option, easy to carry around and keep safe and has all the useful features anyway.

I was thinking this doesn't look too bad. It's only $162.50 shipped, so i figure no big loss even if it got stolen. The reviews are pretty positive over the other tablets.

I just figured that lots of hostels always have their computer terminals full with people using them and that using a smartphone would have too small a screen to surf for long. Plus it might help for evenings in small towns where there's nothing to do or maybe any kind of "dead" time. Any smartphone recommendations? Or maybe the Dell Streak 5 or Dell Streak 7.
