Continuance of the DC Meetup thread as this becomes a bi-monthly Tribal Meeting.
Currently the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month but may change in the future
The main organizing venue for meetings is RVF using the PM system. Meeting details will not be posted publicly and will generally occur on a weekday early in the week (Monday or Tuesday) in central, metro-accessible DC.
Members with less than 50 posts (and not repped or referred by a senior member) may not be invited unless vetted beforehand. This also means it's not okay to bring a friend along.
Based on past experience it's good to have some basic guidelines. There will also be a certain degree of general etiquette expectations:
1. No posting of the venue online/offline or to any social media platforms (including facebook, twitter, instagram, swarm/foursquare, etc.).
2. Avoid PUA lingo. This isn't a "Lair", just a meeting place for like-minded men.
3. Do not refer to other guys in public by their forum handles/names. The exception here is during introductions and if someone prefers to not use their real name (you weirdos!).
4. Don't show up drunk or get completely hammered during the event. No explanation needed.
5. No pictures (unless agreed upon beforehand). Any pictures taken by me or other senior members will have faces blacked out.
6. Be presentable. This doesn't mean you have to show up in a three-piece suit but have some sense. A good rule of thumb is if you wouldn't show up to a date as you are, don't bother.
7. Early on, expect more conversation between the men. This means it's generally frowned upon to show up and start hitting on girls. Later on if it fits the general mood and there aren't an overwhelming amount of us we can go with that plan or jump to another venue.
8. No cock-blocking. For the newbies, this includes not going after a girl any other guy(s) from the group is or was just engaged in a conversation with. It also means not to "hover" around too close during another member's conversation. Basically, use some common sense.
9. If you want to wing for another guy, ask beforehand. Don't just jump into a conversation uninvited.
10. No women at the meetings.
11. No commercial activity or sales pitches.
12. Be courteous and have fun.
Anyone who violates any of these may be asked to leave the venue and depending on the severity may not be invited back again. So far, there have not been any issues.
Newbies, feel free to introduce yourself in this thread and start getting your post count up.
Be sure to respond in the thread or PM me if you are interested in attending. You can subscribe to this thread by clicking the button at the very bottom of the page for updates and new posts.
