Viktor Orban, Prime Minister of Hungary

This forum has devoted a great deal of attention to Vladimir Putin, and lately, Donald Trump. They are both true men who unapologetically defend Western culture in an era where every cuckold cum-eating leftist and every cuckservative enabler relentlessly tries to silence anyone who dares take pride in his masculinity, his heritage, his country. The mere act of taking taking pride in one's identity as a male, being straight, and being an American or European is an unforgivable insult to the leftist agenda.

But a third man has risen to be just as prominent in giving as little fucks as Putin and Trump in recent times, and unlike Trump so far, has proven his integrity as a principled leader. His political accomplishments as Prime Minister of Hungary is nothing less than miraculous. He added a Constitutional article in support of traditional marriage, and instituted a flat income tax of 16%. Can you imagine the Republicans and libertarians accomplishing anything close to that in America?

His very premiership is itself an expression of Hungary as a nation's greatness. Someone who wasted no time at all in mobilizing the army and building fences of razor wire along the border. All my admiration to Hungarians for managing to elect someone who loves their country. Americans, the English, the French, and Germans - we are all made envious.

I sometimes try to imagine what it must be like to be a Viktor Orban-like figure in this world. How alone must someone like him feel? What kind of responsibility does he feel as a border nation within the EU to protect not only his country, but neighboring ones? Every day he has to act and hold firm, while knowing that if he gets dislodged by a liberal puppet of Merkel, the ramifications for Europe are disastrous. We as Westerners owe it to ourselves and our civilization to win these battles. Not just to stop this migrant invasion of literally millions of Muslims and North Africans, but the cultural battle, so that men like him are commemorated in the history books as the heroes they are, and not murderers worse than Hitler, as he will be remembered if the liberal historians get the final say.

Here's to an extraordinary man.

Note in the picture - how he does not "lean in".
His shoulders are almost not bent, and maintains his posture.

Even though he has a crowd shouting at him, and giving him attention, he has a semi-smirk and his face says "I need to go back to work"

There's an article on Reuters which exemplifies Orban's dedication to this entire situation and the efficiency undertook to build the fence on the border between Hungary and Serbia in such a short period of time. Utilizing military, prisoners and the unemployed.

The government says putting the military in charge was the only way to build the fence quickly, exempting the state from cumbersome procurement laws.

Some who worked on the project say there are other benefits: details can be kept secret, and the army itself has learned from the work.

"It’s not just cheaper and quicker, it’s also more discreet," said an engineer working on the Croatian border, who asked not be identified because he was not authorized to speak to the media.

"Soldiers don’t talk, prisoners can’t talk and public works employees know it’s not in their best interest to talk.

"Politics aside, this is the best logistical exercise the army had in years," he added.

Unlikely heros him and Putin. I remember QC writing how the greatest generation only became so through hardship.

There's a good takeaway here for self improvement, you need to put yourself through real resistance if you ever want to know what you are capable off.

I would be really interested to learn how Orban became Orban. Same with Putin. Nothing in their careers seem to indicate where that resolve of steel came from.

He wasn't head of KGB, seems like he had an uneventful KGB career like he had an uneventful political career. He was the aid of some Mayor, when he was selected to be puppet by the Oligarchs. Then the puppet became the master. It's a great story and should have been told in cinema already. Of course, the oligarch have a lot of friends in Hollywood so unlikely to happen.

Not so. Here he is as a student in 1989 standing up and addressing the Communist government and demanding freedom.

At that time he was one of the key founders of his party, Fidesz, which now rules Hungary.

He also was a professional soccer player, married an attractive woman, and has five children. His family is known to be very together and even devoted to him (seems to be more than publicity, according to my Hungarian friends).

But to balance all of the good stuff, there is definitely crony-style corruption in his government, and he has flip-flopped on a number of issues.

He is becoming something of a father figure for many Hungarians, not a distant king-like ruler like Putin. Hungary is a small country, at its best, like a family, and the prime minister needs to stay an approachable figure. Orban fills this role well.

Dr Johnson rumbles with the RawGod. And lives to regret it.

Honestly I don't think it's possible to have a human government, in power, without this description.

Here's a quote from that reuters article linked above:

Quote:Quote:

"It took a while but the government’s campaign to rouse public opinion against the refugees is bearing fruit, and having brought much of the media under control is paying dividends," said Richard Szentpeteri Nagy, an analysts at Centre for Fair Political Analysis.

By properly filtering the message through public television, what viewers at home see is that this is a mob, throwing stones and attacking police.

Control of information and propaganda will always be a government's weapon, no matter how 'good' or 'evil' they seem to be.

I've got mixed feelings about the guy, on one hand he was the PM during the bombing of Serbia in '99 when he gave full support for that atrocity, but now he is one of the defenders of Europe and seems to be doing good things for Hungary. I guess I will grudgingly continue to cheer him on, for the betterment of us all.

Prime Minister Viktor Orban announced a seven-point family protection action plan in his state-of-the nation address in Budapest on Sunday.

So this is Orban's answer to the challenges of a decreasing population, instead of just bringing in the whole 3rd world like other European countries.

Quote:Quote:

1. Every woman under 40 years of age will be eligible to a preferential loan when they first get married.

2. The preferential loan of the family home purchase scheme (csok) will be extended; families raising two or more children will now also be able to use it for purchasing resale homes.

3. The government will repay 1 million forints of the mortgage loan of families with two or more children. This measure was first announced in August 2017 for families with three or more children, with the government paying off 1 million forints of families’ mortgages for every third and subsequent child from January 2018. The measures has now been extended to include families raising two children.

4. Women who have had and raised at least four children will be exempt from personal income tax payment for the rest of their lives.

5. The government will launch a car purchase subsidy programme for large families. Families raising at least three children will be eligible to a grant of 2.5 million forints to buy a new car seating at least seven people.

6. The government will create 21,000 creche places over three years.

7. Grandparents will also be eligible to a child-care fee and look after young children instead of the parents, the prime minister added.

Quote:Quote:

Orban called Brussels “the citadel of new internationalism” and immigration as “the instrument of this internationalism”. He said there are once again forces that want to see open societies and a world without nations, “fabricate” a supranational global government and are still controlled from abroad.

I read this earlier and Hungary looks more and more like a place where I could imagine raising a family in the future.

You're thinking about the low wages, right?
Yes, but my hope is to work for an international company there where the wages will be closer to international standards. That's another possibility.

I would say the reason Hungary takes no shit, builds fences and does its best to keep kebab out is due to its history. Hungary has always struggled as a nation from the Ottoman Kebabs and Hungary's defeat at Mohacs to the Habsburg's Imperialism and the carving up of the country during and after Trianon to the Soviets and now - it's inevitable a shitlord arose from such trying times. I think Orban is different from Putin, you certainly don't see Orban demanding to have the territories ceded by the Trianon Treaty back at least not yet you don't.
