What small differences do you make for self improvement.

In my opinion there are two types of self improvement: Big life changing type changes and then small incremental changes.


I thought it would be cool to hear what small changes you guys make, perhaps combining lots of little changes you can make a big difference.

Here is a few small changes I have made:

1. Sleep: I try and get an hour or two extra a night. Spending a little bit more time asleep can make a big difference in mental performance and workout gains.
2. Supplement with zinc and creatine: These improve my energy at work and in the gym.

I've cut down on my smoking. I used to smoke a pack a day and now i only smoke around 8 cigarettes. If i get the yearning for a smoke i drop down and do 20 push ups, this works better than any dumb nicotine patch and it's a good workout. The plan is to quit smoking entirely by the end of the year.

Limit fapping to once a week (very difficult).

Eat healthier and go to bed earlier. I used to have these dark circles under my eyes, even when i was a small kid, i always thought it was genetic but since i've started living healthier they have disappeared. I literally looked like a new man after 2 weeks.

I also replaced weight training with bodyweight training and yoga. I kept getting injured and did not feel healthy eating that much to bulk up. Now i'm around 170 which is a good and healthy weight for me. I still lift weights occasionally but not with the goal of bulking up anymore.

I've also switched from drinking coffee to drinking green tea.

Make one power move a day. This is especially important for us introverts. What is a power move? It can be reaching out to network with someone who can improve your life or provide guidance, maybe working on a certification or new skill, or just finding a new way to out yourself out there. As men we are expected to age like wine, and if you are not always moving forward than you arr falling behind.

When it comes to fitness, I make sure everyday I at least "do something". Even with a knee injury, I still made sure to do some upper body stuff. I'd work on my jab. Do pull ups. For fucks sake I had to do at least something. And it adds up. Same with diet. Being just even slightly more mindful of what you take in does wonders. Which parlays into my biggest point...

Mindfulness. This is something you can do periodically throughout the day. Try to be mindful of what you're doing and WHY you're doing it. This helps with not wasting time on the internet for instance. The internet is a great tool, but it should be serving a purpose each time you log on, not just mindless browsing.

Civilize the mind but make savage the body.

I don't drink calories unless they can make me drunk.

I stick to mainly water, green tea, some diet soda, and black coffee.

No regular soda, juice, Gatorade, etc

Diet fitness business and meditation are already part of my grind, but lately Ive also been very aware of my posture, gait and the way I control my voice.

KsockZ, great way of looking at it. I do the same, though I try to stick to spirits.


I need to get back into the habit of positive affirmations in the morning.

One of the things that has improved my life overall lately was not sleeping in. I'd wake up and check all my notifications and end up getting side tracked and wasting an hour or two.

Besides that I'd say not listening to people bitch about things or just cutting them off before they take the conversation down that path.

What small differences do you make for self improvement.

1. Started getting up at ~5 AM, and going to sleep at 10-11PM.
More hours in the day.
2. Reading RP materials daily (less than an hour combined).
3. Going to meetups and events regularly to meet new people and prospects.

Fapping only once a week for testosterone cycling, no porn.

Going to the gym every day.

Trying to learn a lesson of either Russian or French every day.

Networking within my work to get to my desired off and engagement every day.

I watched one of those IMAX movies on the universe with Neil deGrasse Tyson, and although I already knew it previously, it was good to be reminded how absolutely miniscule we are in the grand scheme of things. Apparently the absolute edge of our universe, over 10 billion light years away, is the size of a planetarium and the theorized size of the cosmos is analogous to our planet.

In that light, how can I possibly waste time doing things I don't want to, working somewhere I'm not happy, or not living my best life for me every day?

Doing my morning routine to get in the perfect state for achieving the day's goals.

The most important parts being the 5 min meditation, stretches and writing down specifically what outcomes I want achieved today.

Completely cut down on sugar. I used to drink all my coffee with sugar and when you drink like 4-5 coffee's a day at work it adds up. Removing the sugar from coffee and cutting down on sugar in general has made my face less puffy. I've also lost a few pounds of fat. Can highly recommend it to anyone.
