Anyone ever use CheapTickets.com??

I normally would not consider them, but their price on this ticket is $300 cheaper!!

They have a bunch of bad reviews, but i usually use Orbitz, which i never have problems with, and they have bad reviews too.

The Orbitz price is $1575, on cheaptickets, it's $1267. Thanks!!

A ticket from where to where? I think that'll be a factor in some cases...For international flights, I mainly use Expedia and for local flights, I use local sites or even directly from the airline's site (Gol in Brasil, Thai International in Thailand etc..).

If it's too good to be true then it usually isn't... I'm connected to the AMEX travel agency through my job and even with our gracious discounts (my company is listed by Forbes as among the top 10 in travel expenses) we wouldn't be able to shave $300 off an airline ticket from the rack rate. Where and when are you going?

The beauty About Expedia and orbitz is the security, they will never intentionally fcuk you and should a mess up occur the have the muscles to make it right.

Did you try using Kayak.com? Kayak searches all the other travel sites and allows you to sort by price. That way you can get an idea if the rate is too good to be true. Just a guess, perhaps tax is not include in the total price.

Flight is a multi-city to South America: DC-Bogota, lima to sao Paulo and buenos aires to DC. Found the fare on Kayak. Would prefer to go to lima first, then colombia, but for $300 less, i guess i could do it the other way around.

Perhaps fares are cheaper to South America during (their) winter? Although a lot of other South America fares were like around $2000!!

BTW, anyone have any issues using South American airlines like TACA, LAN, etc? (This flight is actually United/Continental.)

I used TACA out of SFO to go on a multi-country trip last year and everything went by real smooth with them. One thing that worried me was the very short connecting times but they actually have one of the highest on time rates of Latin America. I didn't miss one flight.

After comparing online sites like Kayak, Expedia, and Orbitz I found that vayama.com had the lowest prices. They are similiar to kayak in that they will check all sites and then route you to a main travel site. But for some reason they were WAY cheaper than Kayak when using the multi-city feature. It's worth checking them out.

i've used cheaptickets several times, its no different than any other travel website in my experience except sometimes they'll display some shitty delays before connecting flights when there are obviously faster options

The price for the same flights usually cannot differ that much. So you may be looking on one of the following:

- the ticket price does not include tax (which can easily add $300-$600 to the ticket price);
- the tickets are for the different flights, different schedules or different days.
