I know it might be a long shot that anyone has been to both, but I'm attempting to plan a trip this year from Late July, to early August. Obviously someplace fun, and hopefully welcoming to American Black guys, as far as femals are concerned. I notice that this year Caribana in Toronto and Black Beach Week in Nergil, Jamaica fall nearly on the same days. Any ideas on which destination would have the greater odds of female success? I'll probably be going with a 6.5-7 half while/mexican,FB, no strings or jealousy, won't stand in the way of pick ups, good for the 3some, girl with me. lol. Anyway, Just wanted some input from the fellas on here before I start making final plans.

Went to Caribana last year as I am a Toronto native, let's just say I will not waste my time this year. It was awful and the talent was disappointing, cellulite was everywhere and ugly girls were coping attitude b/c of so many men.
This use to be a must event many years ago but has detoriated badly over the years.
I would assume Jamaica would be alot better and you would have a better chance for picking up, I would imagine. Not to say you would not pick-up in Toronto, girls here love black american guys but Caribana weekend is full of Americans.

Have you thought of Carnival in London, the Notting Hill Carnival? I was there two years ago and there was a much better vibe and a more international feel to it.

Agreed with rudeboy. A few years ago, Caribana was good, fun and full of hot sexy slutty women DTF very easily. Nowadays, it's more and more a parade of the ghetto boys from Detroit, Chicago and NY with their gangsta wanna-be attires, cars and some even showing up with guns. A complete waste of time, not to mention dangerous these days. Much better and safer to avoid Caribana in Toronto and head to other similar parties in the Caribeans for the real thing.

Caribana in Toronto can be fun too, no doubt, actually i dont think it is as hood as London..London carnival is more ghetto.

I would go to Negril if i was you.

Did you go to Caribana last year? It was beyond ghetto!

The London carnival was pretty decent and I met girls from all over the world.

I agree London carnival was very rough when I used to go. People ALWAYS used to die and I always saw some real rough shyt (remember the story of the guy who fly kicked that lizard in the back for acting stoosh).
That is not uncommon in London carnival. If you look soft, the predators might rush you for a casual stomping..but times may have changed..

I had neveerr heard of the party in London. However, I need to make arrangements really soon, so the London situation minght be out of reach, depending on when it falls.

I keep hearing how women in Toronto Love 'brothas', so naturally that makes me intrigued. I also hear how Jamaica, being that it's a predominately black country, naturally won't view an American black as exotic, making chances harder. Of course, with all the Zulus' coming up from Detroit, New York, etc., a Zulu like myself could get lost in the crowd. Not enough white girls to go around! Lol. Black Beach week in Jamaica will naturally be overwhelmingly sista populated. However, with all those black women, there's bound to be a few Alicia Keys, Meagan Good types there, plus more than a few white girls who purposely seek out black men. (unfortunately not always the highest quality) I think the all-inclusive hotels might be the deal breaker though. I love to eat! Lol.

How about option C - stay home and save for the Trinidad Carnival in Feb/March. From what I have seen/read it is better than all of the above. ISW did a report on this forum.

Caribana has and always will have some suspect characters attending-mostly from the US. Every few years there is an 'incident'. A women from England once caught a bullet in friendly fire-she is either in a wheelchair now or dead can't remember.

I also went to the parade 2-3 years back and that will definitely be my last time. Too ghetto.

having said all that, there are tonnes of clubs booked each night and if you choose your venue carefully, it won't be hard to find an absolutely bumping party

of course girls whatever the stripe will likely be into bruthas if they are attending the parade/club venues

Finally, your age is a factor. My black friends would never miss this in their 20s. No one even thinks of going being in their 30s now...
