In my opinion nothing comes even close to the Russian/Soviet anthem, although the version you shared doesn't do it justice. It needs to be sung by a men's choir:

Soviet Union by a wide margin. I feel im somehow viscerally conditioned to get goosebumps/shivers every time I hear it. I also get overtaken by emotion when hearing The Sacred War. Its as if they poured it into us as children.

Even tough it is not an official national anthem, the Hakka, a Maori native war cry is nonetheless the most iconic way the Kiwis are represented in the world of sports. The best, by far, is when the All Blacks, the Mighty New Zealand Rugby national team performs it before all their matches. Goosebumps inducing every single time!

The best and most dominating team in rugby, the most bad ass, most masculine, most alpha team sports in the world. Enjoy!

LOL - Will have to PM me for the US Submarine Cheer because if I post the actual lyrics I will likely be banned for life off RVF... and I get too much benefit from the data sheets and city travel reports for that to happen.

I have always been a big fan of the Russian one. Especially when watching WWII documentaries when they defeated the Nazi armies while "fighting for mother Russia."


My two favorites of all time though are the U.S and Mexico's.


U.S. National Anthem- Freedom, democracy, bravery all things

Mexico National Anthem- Fierce and makes you feel like you're going to war and fight. Even the anthem says "Mexicans at the call for war." Very fitting for a World Cup match and a Boxing match.

Belinda's version- A more pop version of it.

I also like the chest salute to the heart.

But then again, I'm biased as hell.
