If we are to complain that fathers on television are depicted as feckless nincompoops, always bettered by wives and children, the femmes have a right to complain about every bad ass woman secretly wants a marriage and family.

Nailed it.

The short haircuts, the female gym douche bags, the flexers, the girls who "can outdrink" you, the wild party ratchet girls, the girls who sing the "I don't care" song, the butch lesbians dressed like men, the girls who curse like sailors, the girls who flash their goods with a middle finger out

the list goes on...

They'll never ever fully be a man, it's hard wired, it's biological, and you aren't getting that sweetie.

2 of them challenged Joss to a fight - Joss may be a pussy, but even he could beat the eternal fuck out of a woman.

It reminds me of when Ronda Rousey said she wished she was in that elevator - "Things woulda been different". Dream on sweetheart.

I've been thinking about why. The idea of projection is well-known-- that women act the way that guys to whom they are attracted act in order to be more attractive themselves. Still, that doesn't tell the whole story.

I recall a Quora question that asked why feminism has primarily focused on pushing females into male-dominated activities but not men into female-dominated ones.

One answer claimed that there is a bias that exists that society views things that men do as being more valuable, and things that women do as less valuable.

This is basically the other half of the feedback loop that results from men holding all the positions of power and prestige: The subsequent bias that if men do something, it must be more valuable, and if women do something, it is less valuable. If men are doing something, whether it is playing video games, creating startups, or entering cage fighting, then women must join because if men are doing it then it must be worth doing.

This has resulted in an ironic value-system within feminism that male-dominated activities are inherently more valuable and that traditionally female activities are inherently less valuable, and that it is therefore desirable to primarily encourage and support women to pursue "male" activities.

Women acting like men is the farthest thing from attractive in my book, that's grounds for nexting.

You're right men do bring more value to the table, we're the ones who helped modernize the globe, the technology, the science, etc.

Most of this was done by man, so of course this is power, womyn want to be "empowered" so they are forcing themselves into male avenues.

A similar dynamic has been noticed between species:

Researchers let pet dogs choose between two plates, one with a single piece of food and the other with six pieces. Unsurprisingly, the animals generally went for the larger portion. But when a human being showed a clear liking for the smaller plate, the canines likewise went for the skimpier choice. The dogs apparently recognized and responded to the humans' social cues.

I wonder if this is related to the dog prioritizing eating more hotly coveted food first. If the dog thinks that the human will leave the 6 pieces of food alone, then eating the single piece might give him 7 pieces in the end.

Or, maybe the dog thinks the human has knowledge that the single piece is materially better than the 6 pieces.

Of course, the result is interesting - now we just need to try to guess WHY it happened.

Relevant quote from The Other McCain via this DOBA post:

Quote:Quote:

Well, “the personal is the political,” as Women’s Liberation pioneer Carol Hanisch famously proclaimed, and this sort of identity-based narrative approach to politics — i.e., offering one’s personal biography as the justification of a radical ideology — has multiple consequences. Forming any kind of coherent movement becomes difficult because everyone has an unlimited psychological investment in the movement, and must fight to make the movement reflective of their own identity. This was the history of Women’s Liberation in a nutshell, familiar to anyone who has read Alice Echols’ Daring to Be Bad or Susan Brownmiller’s In Our Time.

This quote is really great as it placed the last remaining pieces of the puzzle for me. I've looked upon feminism with more than a considerable amount of amusement for some now, due to the fact that not even feminists can agree on what feminism actually is. It's just one giant clusterfuck, basically. But I never quite understood why that was. Now it's clear.

Hey remember when feminists decided Gamergate was a hate group, hell-bent on destroying the lives of women, because some teenagers sent some SJWs abusive tweets? Remember when a movement was defined by the actions of a few idiotic adolescents?

I guess they'll be sticking with that logic with this Joss Whedon thing right?

...r...right?

^ Do you even need that clarification? It's a group of women.

They can't even pick their children up after school without it turning to status games and exclusionary cliques in the car park.

I've just watched this movie and it's mind-boggling that someone has the capability to be offended over this. She came across as a very balanced and likable character to me.
