Bulgaria in my opinion is a hidden gem in Eastern Europe and does not seem to get too much attention here. It is definitely one of the cheapest places in Eastern Europe and has some hot girls, great climate and really nice people. Let me write a little bit about me first. Until last December I worked in Amsterdam as a software engineer saving up enough money to start to build my own startup. I had been to Sofia three times for short trips before and always had a great time here. So I decided to setup my base in Sofia and moved over permanently at the beginning of this year. I am 1.75 m short have long brown hair and blue eyes and a muscular body but not jacked. I definitely don’t look like a Bulgarian which most of the time is an advantage.
I will describe much more details about everything during this post but I think Sofia is not worth to come for a short term visitor. It takes a bit time to figure this city out and girls are not easy to bang so you should give yourself at least 2 to 3 weeks here.
About Sofia:
Sofia is the capital city of Bulgaria. It has a population of 1.3 Million people but the city center feels much slower. If you travelled across Europe and have been to the major cities Sofia actually feels like a second tier city. The inner city center is really small and you can pretty much walk everywhere.
Climate and when to go:
The winter in Sofia is terrible. It gets really cold and it snows. The best time to come here is between end of April and end of June and then again in September and October. Don’t come during July and August the city is dead because everyone is at the beach resorts in Varna and Burgas.
How to get here:
You will get regular flights from most major airports in Europe. Wizz Air and Easy Jet flying to Sofia too. Once you arrive at the airport look out for the Taxi stand from OK taxis in the main airport hall and just take an OK taxi into the city. OK taxi is really great they always using metres and never ripped me off. The trip from the airport takes about 20 minutes and will not cost you more than €10. You can now also use the metro line but I have never done it.
Where to stay:
The central part of the city is really small. You can pretty much walk everywhere you want. As long as you take a place close to Vitosha Boulevard you can’t go wrong. Apartments are really cheap for €40 a night you will get a decent place. I stay in a 2 bedroom apartment with luxury furniture, flat screen TV and sound system for €550 a month including internet.
Gym and Phone:
There are a lot of gyms around the whole city. If you stay in the center you will find easily one. The gyms are not really fancy but have all the basic stuff you going to need for lifting. Prices are usually around €30 a month.
For a phone just bring your smartphone and go into one of the many Vivacom shops. They all speak English and will set you up with the right data plan.
Gaming:
As I mentioned above girls are not easy here. However the main purpose for me being here is to get my startup going and not to bang as many chicks as possible. Also when I go out I want to enjoy myself make new friends and have fun. If a bang comes along I will take it but my life is not ending if it does not work out.
Competition:
Bulgarian guys are definitely more attractive than Polish or Ukrainian guys. Many of them dress quite well in the better clubs and some of them are really jacked. However they are really good to get along and as long you are not try hooking up with their girlfriend or a chick they have a crush on they will not cockblock at all.
One of the main reasons I decided to move to Sofia was also the lack of foreign tourists. You will never have a huge influx of horny British guys coming with a cheap Ryan Air flight like you have in Riga or Kracow.
Girls:
Okay now to the interesting part. Bulgarian girls. If you compare Bulgarian girls with Serbian and Romanian chicks they would become last in my opinion. If you have been to Serbia you might agree with me that Serbian girls are the hottest girls on this planet. They will even beat Ukrainian and Russian chicks. Bulgarian girls look very similar to Romanian girls. But Romania has 5 times the population of Bulgaria so you can expect more stunners in Romania than in Bulgaria.
However Bulgarian girls are still awesome looking. Most of the girls are skinny with nice small asses and long beautiful black hair and brown eyes. If you like Mediterranean looking girls Bulgaria is the right place for you. You will find blondes too but darker girls are much more common. Similar to girls in the other Balkan countries Bulgarian girls know how to dress. Just be aware that girls usually don’t dress that great during the day. Because of the fucked up streets and sidewalks you will not see to many girls wearing high heels. But as soon as the night starts girls will dress up to the tenths.
Daygame:
I am not big into daygaming. I want to build my business and make money so I don’t have time for this kind of things. Having said that there are still some decent spots where you can try it:
Vitosha Boulevard
That is the main pedestrian zone of Sofia. There are a lot of outside coffees and girls walk around there. Vitosha Boulevard also has a lot of shops which are pretty empty during the day. So you might hit on some of the girls working in these shops.
NDK Park
This is very close to Vitosha Boulevard. NDK is a bit communist congress center. It is within quite a big park so girls usually sit around and walk in this park. A better spot than Vitosha Boulevard in my opinion.
Mall of Sofia
Biggest shopping mall close to the city center. Lots of shops which are not busy during the day. So you can go for the girls working there.
Anyway I am not an expert in daygaming so really don’t want to give too much advice on this.
Nightgame:
This is the topic were I can write much more. Nightlife starts really late. Usually people meet for dinner at around 10pm and only hitting clubs from 1am onwards. There is no closing time for clubs so parties usually still carry on till 6am. Because Sofia is relatively small nightlife in the center is only happening from Wedensday till Saturday. One of the bigger disadvantages of Sofia is that there is no old town like you have in Poznan or Bucharest. So the nightlife is a bit spread out.
If you want to party on a Monday or Tuesday take a taxi for €5 to Studanski Grad. This is the student area where some clubs are busy early in the week.
If you have been to countries in the Balkans you might have noticed that nightclubs don’t really have dance floors. Nightclubs have many standing tables were groups gather around and having their own private parties within their groups. Even sitting at the bar can be problematic in some clubs because seats are usually reserved. In general everything is always reserved so you can’t just show up in the clubs and occupy a table or a bar seat which makes nightlife really tricky. So considering all of this night game especially in the top end clubs rolling solo or with just one wing man is really a mission sometimes. That is why you need to take some time to build connections with bartenders, reservation chicks and bouncers to get the best out from high end clubs. Another funny fact is that most clubs and bars have mixed toilets. So if you want you can game chicks on the toilet. People also love to bang in toilets. Every weekend I see at least one couple going into one toilet together. So far I only managed to get a blow job in a toilet :-)
I will now do a little break down on clubs and bars I have been. I am a huge party animal so I think I have been to all big bars and clubs in Sofia already.
Bars:
The bar scene in Sofia is quite small. Many people go straight to nightclubs so if you are more the bar kind of guy Sofia might not be ideal. Still there are a few great places:
Raffys Terrasse bar:
This is where Sofias top talent meets up before hitting the clubs. It is a nice bar/restaurant in the first and second floor on Vitosha Boulevard. Again the bar has many tables and it is quite tricky to approach girls there. But the talent there is awesome. You can also go there during the day for lunch and can be sure that there are going to be a few hotties around. If you want to go there on a Friday or Saturday night better reserve a seat at the bar. Otherwise they might not let you in.
JJ Murphies
It is on a side street of Vitosha Boulevard. This is a typical Irish pub. I really like this place to watch sports and you will always find expats hanging out there. There can also be some hot girls and many of them are gringo hunters. So check this place out you could have some luck.
Mc Cartheys
Another Irish pub although not a typical one. It is basically one room with one bar and another room with some seats. Usually there are 80% male expats in there so don’t expect too much. However having said that the other 20% of girls are usually gringo hunters and some of them are really hot. I got the number of a 7.5 there last week. Will meet her next week.
Sense hotel sky bar
Nice bar with a great view but expensive for Sofia standards. Good place for a first date.
Nightclubs
Top Tier:
In these clubs you will see Sofia’s 9s and 10s. If you want to go to these clubs you might make a reservation to get the most out of it. Having a table with a bottle can help you big time. All these clubs have Facebook pages so just Google them if you want more information and pictures.
Sin City
This is where soccer players, actresses and singers go. Don’t bother going there if you don’t want to spend big money (by big money for Sofia standards I am talking about €500). Don’t expect to find a girl their. The 9s and 10s there usually reserved like in many other EE countries for the local elite guys. I was there once did not really enjoy it because I felt quite poor among all these rich dudes.
Bedroom
Not as elite as Sin City. But still attracts really hot girls. The layout of this club is terrible. It is basically one big room with one bar which is packed If you don’t have your own table it is really tricky to mingle and start chatting up girls.
PmClub
Similar talent and people than Bedroom. Setup of the club is much better. Has a longer bar which is not that packed. Better if you are rolling solo.
Tequila Club
My favourite club of the top end clubs. The layout is much better with one very big bar and enough space between tables. Much better to chat up girls who are on a table because there is much more space and the bar is close to the tables. I go there at least three times a month usually on Saturdays. I know the bartenders and the chick who manages the reservations. She usually can arrange a seat on the bar for me even without a reservation. Two of the best looking girls I banged here in Sofia came from this club.
Medium Tier Clubs
Carrussel Club
Could be also considered a top tier club. Has a good looking crowd and a nice round bar with also a little dance floor in front of the DJ. I was there a few times could be worth a try.
Brillantine
It is a retro bar playing 80s and 90s music. Was much better a few years ago. The refurbished it and now the setup is not very good anymore. I used to like this place but don’t go there anymore.
Gramphone
Opposite the Kamasutra strip club. Decent crowd although chicks are usually a bit older there. Was there once not bad but not great either.
Once upon a time Bibliotheka
One of my favourites. Has a very good setup for a Balkan club. Two bars and a little dance floor. Girls are not that hot but you can still find a few cute ones. The club is the university library.
Sugar Club
This is a hip hop club. I don’t like hip hop however this place attracts young high quality chicks which are usually down to earth. I think also a good place for black guys to find girls. It is the only club in Sofia where I have seen black guys so far. This is also the only place in Sofia where girls approached me on two occasions. I will go there more in the summer because they have a cool open air terrasse with a nice bar.
Plaza Dance
This is a place in Studanski Grad a €5 taxi ride from the city. This club plays Bulgarian pop folk music called Chalga. Girls there are quite hot but I get annoyed by the Bulgarian music pretty quick so not going there too often. This is a place you should hit up if you want to party on a Monday or Tuesday. Definitely worth. The area where this club is located also has many more student clubs so if you don’t like the place just switch over to a different club.
Jim Beam Center
Right on Vitosh Boulevard opposite Raffys bar. Usually quite a good crowd but can be really a hit and miss thing. But because of the central location always worth a try. If you are in Studanski Grad check out the Jim Beam Club there. It is right next to Plaza.
Yalta
A techno club right next to Tequila club. They often have some famous DJs playing there. Then this place is packed. Checkout their Facebook page and only go if a famous DJ is playing
Lower Tier Clubs
These are your clubs where you have the biggest chance to get a SNL. Girls are usually very down to earth and sometimes drunk too. But don’t expect to see 9s and 10s there. You can still be lucky and find a cute decent 7.
Alkohol
This club is quite cool. Has a nice layout with two bars a bit of a dance floor and another bar which is in a separate quiet room. Actually very good club to meet girls but the quality level can be really poor there. But an ideal place to look for an SNL if you have not found anything before 4am in the morning.
Rockn Roller
A nice rock bar which attracts more hipsters and people who like this kind of music. I managed to pull my only SNL from here.
Terminal One
This is a club where they have live rock music on weekends. It has Fussball tables too. Can be quite fun and people there are really nice and down to earth.
Hooking up and Dating
It is not easy to get laid quickly in Sofia. But what I really love on how straight forward the dating and banging process works here. Maybe I was just lucky but I did not have a single girl who flaked on me or played any kind of games. As soon I brought each girl home to my place it was also clear that we are going to bang. No LMR or anything. Usually with the higher quality girls the three date rule seems to apply. I usually setup the first meeting in a bar which one switch don’t try any moves. Second date usually drink in a bar and then going to a high end club. Start getting a bit physical while dancing makeout at the end of the night. Third date dinner close to my place. Back for the bang. This model worked with three 8s so far. While some of you might think that I am moving to slow I am more than happy to spend some time with a pretty girl and get a the bang only on the third date.
You also don’t need to use any fancy gaming tactics. Just be a self confident alpha who is enjoying his life, have some money and mix it with some romantic beta stuff. That usually is doing the job. What I also would like to mention is that the top girls in Sofia are very much worried about their reputation and how they look in front of other people.
Don’t expect hot girls to get drunk and behaving dirty in the top end clubs. This also applies for dancing. Girls in the top end clubs would usually not dance a lot like you would see it in Poland for example.
80% of girls under 40 will have good to fluent English knowledge so language is not an issue at all.
Other things to mention and I observed: If you are approaching a group in a club always befriend the guys first. Ignore the girls at the start. If the guys like you they are really friendly. Then find out if any of the guys is dating one of the chicks or wants more than friendship. If this is clear then go ahead with your approach. The guys will not cockblock you at all. 2 of my 3 higher level bangs came from getting the phone number with this tactic.
Another thing I noticed sometimes girls in clubs would eyefuck me like crazy. But as soon as I approach them they shut me down straight away. I really don’t know what the reason for this is. Has never happened anywhere else. ‘
In terms of online dating. I use Tinder a little bit get some matches but not too many. However a managed to pull a Tinder SNL (not sure if you can call this SNL but we went for a coffee and then straight to my place to bang in the same afternoon).

I am quite okay with this considering I am only here since January and my main focus is working rather than meeting girls. I think if you put more of an effort into online dating and daygame one new girl a week should be very doable.
Conclusion:
Sofia is a great place if you want to live cheap and build a business. You can have a great life which includes going out twice a week for €1500 or even less if you find a cheap place to live. The girls are a bit more tricky than maybe in Ukraine or Poland. But if you don’t want to bang a new girl everyday and looking think more long term Sofia is great. It is not worth to come here for a weekend because you need time to figure this city out. So if you come here rather spend a few weeks. Geographically Sofia is located really good with many long distance bus services going to all major cities in the area.
For the upcoming few weeks I have already lined up trips to Belgrade, Bucharest and Skopje. In August I am planning to hit the cost cities of Burgas and Varna and maybe also making a trip to the Romanian cost.

A techno club right next to Tequila club. They often have some famous DJs playing there. Then this place is packed. Checkout their Facebook page and only go if a famous DJ is playing
Lower Tier Clubs
These are your clubs where you have the biggest chance to get a SNL. Girls are usually very down to earth and sometimes drunk too. But don’t expect to see 9s and 10s there. You can still be lucky and find a cute decent 7.
Alkohol
This club is quite cool. Has a nice layout with two bars a bit of a dance floor and another bar which is in a separate quiet room. Actually very good club to meet girls but the quality level can be really poor there. But an ideal place to look for an SNL if you have not found anything before 4am in the morning.
Rockn Roller
A nice rock bar which attracts more hipsters and people who like this kind of music. I managed to pull my only SNL from here.
Terminal One
This is a club where they have live rock music on weekends. It has Fussball tables too. Can be quite fun and people there are really nice and down to earth.
Hooking up and Dating
It is not easy to get laid quickly in Sofia. But what I really love on how straight forward the dating and banging process works here. Maybe I was just lucky but I did not have a single girl who flaked on me or played any kind of games. As soon I brought each girl home to my place it was also clear that we are going to bang. No LMR or anything. Usually with the higher quality girls the three date rule seems to apply. I usually setup the first meeting in a bar which one switch don’t try any moves. Second date usually drink in a bar and then going to a high end club. Start getting a bit physical while dancing makeout at the end of the night. Third date dinner close to my place. Back for the bang. This model worked with three 8s so far. While some of you might think that I am moving to slow I am more than happy to spend some time with a pretty girl and get a the bang only on the third date.
You also don’t need to use any fancy gaming tactics. Just be a self confident alpha who is enjoying his life, have some money and mix it with some romantic beta stuff. That usually is doing the job. What I also would like to mention is that the top girls in Sofia are very much worried about their reputation and how they look in front of other people.
Don’t expect hot girls to get drunk and behaving dirty in the top end clubs. This also applies for dancing. Girls in the top end clubs would usually not dance a lot like you would see it in Poland for example.
80% of girls under 40 will have good to fluent English knowledge so language is not an issue at all.
Other things to mention and I observed: If you are approaching a group in a club always befriend the guys first. Ignore the girls at the start. If the guys like you they are really friendly. Then find out if any of the guys is dating one of the chicks or wants more than friendship. If this is clear then go ahead with your approach. The guys will not cockblock you at all. 2 of my 3 higher level bangs came from getting the phone number with this tactic.
Another thing I noticed sometimes girls in clubs would eyefuck me like crazy. But as soon as I approach them they shut me down straight away. I really don’t know what the reason for this is. Has never happened anywhere else. ‘
In terms of online dating. I use Tinder a little bit get some matches but not too many. However a managed to pull a Tinder SNL (not sure if you can call this SNL but we went for a coffee and then straight to my place to bang in the same afternoon).

I am quite okay with this considering I am only here since January and my main focus is working rather than meeting girls. I think if you put more of an effort into online dating and daygame one new girl a week should be very doable.
Conclusion:
Sofia is a great place if you want to live cheap and build a business. You can have a great life which includes going out twice a week for €1500 or even less if you find a cheap place to live. The girls are a bit more tricky than maybe in Ukraine or Poland. But if you don’t want to bang a new girl everyday and looking think more long term Sofia is great. It is not worth to come here for a weekend because you need time to figure this city out. So if you come here rather spend a few weeks. Geographically Sofia is located really good with many long distance bus services going to all major cities in the area.
For the upcoming few weeks I have already lined up trips to Belgrade, Bucharest and Skopje. In August I am planning to hit the cost cities of Burgas and Varna and maybe also making a trip to the Romanian cost.
