Looking for advice on this particular situation

Hi,

I'm looking for advice on this particular situation. Both on assessing the girl interest, and on how to break a set of friends.

Situation: I work on a cafe. It has little to no visitors. That's what makes it a good choice for me. So I'm sitting minding my business, and a group of 3 (two girls, and a guy) sit in the table just next to me.

It seems that they are a couple (guy + girl scoring 8) and another girl which seems single + looking (scoring 8 too). The "single" girl caught my interest because she is: 1. putting lots of make up. 2. wearing "uncomfortably" tight jeans and 3. kept getting up and sitting down and approaching me (with her back) which seemed to me like try to show her ass. (which distract me to be honest).

The problem is, I don't have a strategy for breaking this set. At first, I was intimidated because I don't know which one of the girls is his girlfriend and it can get to sensitive to hit on her.

Then I thought about another strategy, like hitting on the whole group. "Hey, what are you doing? are you doing xxx, related to yyy? do you need help in xxx or yyy?"

What do you think? (and yes, I do believe I missed a goldmine today)

I might casually get her attention and make an offhand remark about "sit or stand, pick one -- you're distracting me" with an obvious smirk. If you have her attention during this, it doesn't really matter what the couple is doing.

The key is to make sure she's ready to hear you (i.e. you wait until she's looking in your direction to talk), don't try to get too specific about the content of what she's actually doing/working on unless you overhear it, and keep it light. Levity!

It's almost the same thing I'd say to a guy friend were he sitting near me and doing that. It's not overly focused on her being a girl.

Advice: put the question in the thread title.

What does "work on a cafe" mean? Are you an employee of the cafe? Or are you a freelancer who works in a cafe. [I write this because "on" is an awkward use of a preposition. It should be either "in" or "at."]

If you are the former, just ask what she is drinking. Whether she wants another cup. And the proceed with some innocuous questions/statements, followed by more personal conversation (if she bites).

If the latter, just start talking to her. If you are afraid of the other guy, then start with innocuous questions (e.g. "I see you're drinking an Americano. Do you like them? Do you typically put sugar in those drinks."). Then work you're way forward.

You can then eventually ask how everyone knows each other.
