I am curious whether you gentlemen have a mentor? I've read about the importance of a mentor in this forum/various other places. I am asking game specific, although obviously this is important in all walks of life. Roosh and other important PUA's in the online community, but what about non-virtual. Somebody who you've watched perform and performed for in-field. Did you guys do any bootcamps? What's your experience been? Do you guys do meetups? This is me taking action to manifest a mentor into my life.

I'm not a top level player by any means but I get mines. Some good quality too. I contribute in the following ways:

Throwing meetups every few months in NYC to get forum members talking and to encourage friendships and wingmanship. I've even invited forum members for drinks and/or dinner at my pad.

Making myself available to a few young cats(age<25) to answer questions by text or even hang for a few drinks while gaming.

Part of my own development includes hanging with men with way better game than me. Just try to observe and be a good wing and pick their brains to absorb as much as possible. Recently kicked it with the man himself out here in NYC a few nights ago but that was more hanging out than actually gaming, at least on my end.

Scott h young has some good material on finding a mentor.

I've found mentors in a variety of areas and one thing is usually pretty consistent. They pick you when you're ready to learn and you never really realize they're your "mentor" as much as someone who knows more than you that you were able to learn from.

Nope. I only have people I would drink with and people I would not.

Having a direct mentor can be good or bad depending on the direction
and lifestyle they're leading.

It's better to have a wide variety of guys whose success you'd like to model.

That way you can compare and understand the pros and cons of each and create your
own unique style rather than following one particular way of doing things.

As iron sharpens iron, so too one man sharpens another.
Proverbs 27:17

This is key. No matter what level you are currently at in the game it's your role to direct those around you in the right direction that want to improve their lot in life.

I don't post a lot of game advice because there are so many out there better. But I can point a guy in the right direction or tell him where he's going wrong.
