He also very astutely points out how the combination of attention/discipline is key to success in life, and lack of those two factors is disastrous for child development. This is the main benefit of a strong civil society - its ability to successfully socialize the next generation.

He probably also knows that this one of the consequences of the female empowerment and how civil society has collapsed because women now work in the private and public sector as opposed to in their local communities as complements to motherhood.
